Picking where to mission?

I'm getting back into eve after years off. When I played I didn't know squat about missioning, ships, etc. It was years ago and I was too young to care. Now I'm trying to do better. I have my tricked out Drake and I'm trying to figure out where to take it. I found an NPC corp with a couple lvl3 agents in the same system, and a couple of lvl 4 agents in the same system (different than the lvl 3 agent system). I checked out their LP store and I think I can make some good return on LP (800-1300 isk per LP). The systems are high sec (0.5 or greater) so my chance of getting ganked is less. Most of the enemies in the missions should be weak to kinetic. They are in a region I want to ultimately trade in, so I don't have to leave my mission hanger to check buy / sell orders while I'm working during the day. I don't have plans to research or transport. My play time is limited so I will mission when I'm on and check trades while I'm at work.

What am I missing? What have I not thought of here? Is this a good way to go about selecting an NPC corp to grind rep with?

Sounds like you pretty much covered all. At least I can't think of anything you still need.

- LP store checked
- Lowest highsec systems (0.5) pay slightly more in rewards, but check nearby systems too. You don't want to have lowsec in like 3 jumps from the agent system because he might send you there.

Edit: You might want to find a player corp, since the 11% tax from an NPC corp eats your bounties and rewards.

Good suggestions! Low sec is 4 or 5 jumps away so hopefully I'm good. I also verified I can make it to a trade hub through only high sec. Your post reminded me to do that!

I do need a corp. My problem is I don't play much and everyone wants more time than I can give, or voice coms which I can't use most of the time without disturbing the family.

For high sec missioning i always preferred to find a place with several level 4 security agents in the npc corp im running missions for. If i get a crappy mission i dont want i can run one from other agents. Be careful not to pick places with missions that might send you into low sec. A mission hub right next door to low sec might send you into low sec occasionally and you would have to refuse missions more often or take the risk of getting killed. The risk is high. Most hubs like that have pirates living next door because of that chance.

I'm looking for how to grind up to level 4s fastest. Are cruisers or interceptors best to grind level 2 missions?

Cruisers fit for dealing with mostly frigates are best for level 2 missions. A destroyer works too, but may have difficulty with a mission like "Mission of Mercy" that has lots of cruisers.

Interceptors are not really primary combat ships. They are tackling ships.

However, I use an Assault Ship (frigate class) blaster Harpy to do missions from level 1 to level 3 (the only level 3 mission I can't do has web and neut towers - I use a Hurricane battlecruiser for that).

Battlecruisers are recommended for level 3 missions, and battleships for level 4. Of course other ships can be used.

Level 3 courier missions are the fasted way to grind standing, and the fastest way to want to kill yourself. A cargo expanded and rigged Magnate makes a great hauler for these.
