.. sooo

I got the collectors edition box because I am a giant nerd and wanted a rifter USB-hub

What can I do with the DUST stuff, I won't ever play DUST. Let is go to waste?? Sell the digital items via ebay or???

I'd like an option where CCP let's you trade it in for EVE content.

selling in game items for cash gets your account a nice ban.
perhaps you can ask in the dust forum if you can give them away or sell them for isk. (or see if there are already countless threads from other people in the same situation)

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

If it is a code on a piece of paper I'm pretty sure you can sell it on ebay or something. No ban, it is a real item.

I want to sell it for ISK though.

a few seconds of google-fu found that, perhaps that answers the question.

The codes seem to be valid on ebay, but the redeemed items wouldn't be.

I would strongly recommend that you do not attempt to sell any items for real money as this would be in breach of the EULA:

6. B. Selling Items and Objects

You may not transfer, sell or auction, or buy or accept any offer to transfer, sell or auction (or offer to do any of the foregoing), any content appearing within the Game environment, including without limitation characters, character attributes, items, currency, and objects, other than via a permitted Character Transfer as described in section 3 above. You may not encourage or induce any other person to participate in such a prohibited transaction. The buying, selling or auctioning (or any attempt at doing so) of characters, character attributes, items, currency, or objects, whether through online auctions, newsgroups, postings on message boards or any other means is prohibited by the EULA and a violation of CCP's proprietary rights in the Game.

So give the ones who have no interest in DUST a cheaper package without the DUST crap in it, then maybe you wouldn't have to worry about this kind of stuff. Have no clue why you aren't giving those options. The only reason why I'm not buying the Collector's edition is because of the DUST crap.

A bit more nicer worded, it would be nice if there was some way to officially exchange those code with dust bunnies for isk or (rather not) aurum. Smile

But surely if the items haven't been redeemed yet then they are not in game items, and not subject to ccp's RMT rules.

is it any different than me buying a PLEX from ccp / shattered crystal / whoever and selling that for some rl cash / beer to a mate.

CCP have sold me the product and it's up to me what I do with it surely?

I've not got a collectors edition since I'm not that interested in the stuff in it for the money, and we all know the rifter USB ship will die in a fire as it's minmatar, the only worrying thing is what damage will it do to the things plugged into it Big smile

PLEX to cash is shady at best and will result in a ban in pretty much any instance. As for the dust codes seeing as they're a code much akin to xbox live codes or DLC redemption codes, which are used to obtain additional content or items in a game I'm not sure about those. Better safe than sorry. Maybe you can convince some poor sod that still plays DUST to buy it for some iskies or trade it for a PLEX or two.

The EULA doesn't ban resale of unused item codes.

The redemption codes are a physical item that a customer bought, not tied to any Eve account in any way... it's theirs to resell at will.

For example, I can buy a GTC and resell it on Ebay for $10 if I wanted to, that's not against the EULA.

Item codes do not appear in the game but are synonomous with the in-game items they provide, and thus would be bound by the EULA you accepted when creating your account. However, these are DUST514 items and not EVE items so the EVE EULA does not apply here.

This is taken from the DUST514 EULA:

"All such transfers must occur within the Game environment, and may not be transferred, traded, auctioned, sold, purchased or otherwise accepted outside of the Game environment. In addition, you may not transfer, trade, auction, sell, buy, or accept any offer to transfer, trade, auction, sell or buy any content appearing within the Game environment, including without limitation characters, character attributes, items, currency, and objects, for real world currency."

According to this you can only sell these items for in game currency and only within the DUST514 game environment.

Since you dont have a DUST514 account and never accepted this agreement what you do with the code is up to you; however, I would recommend against trying to sell anything on the EVE Online forums.

There are games which will allow it [the trading of in-game items for real cash], hell Diablo3 even has it implemented in the game itself. Why this is so a taboo for CCP, i wonder. They could probably do money out of it by "taxing" the process...
