Greetings all!

While there are numerous lottery websites and services, each with their own particular merits and strengths, there is no service that allows the average player to create, host and track their own personal lotteries. Until now!

Introducing: myEVElotto!

myEVElotto was created in order to provide a service that has not been provided since the closure of eve-lotteries.com. While the larger clients of the eve-lotteries.com service have since developed their own tracking systems for their lotteries, the average player has no ability or opportunity to do the same. Now, using myEVElotto, anyone can create, host and track their own lottery, with a number of ways to customize it to their needs.

What Is myEVElotto?

myEVElotto is a website which serves as a ticket tracking system for lotteries. When a host registers for an account they provide a limited API key with access to their wallet journal. When a lottery is active and tied to their account, the system reads their wallet journal every half hour and assigns tickets to those who have purchased a ticket since the last wallet read.

What Features Are Available?

myEVElotto has a number of features, including:

  • Automatic ticket tracking
  • Customizable ticket promotions (buy X get Y free)
  • Ability to add tickets manually (for promotions)
  • Ticket refund tracking
  • Multiple prize support
  • Automatic internal rolling system or link to third party rolling system
  • Lottery administration console - view all your lotteries and manage them easily from your account page

As we intend to continue expanding the features available to provide the best service possible, we welcome any and all suggestions users or potential users might have. Send suggestions to MyEveLotto (this character) and we'll see how we might work them into the system.

How Does It Work?

In order to create a lottery, one first needs to register for an account using the In-Game Browser. This process requires that you 'trust' the website, just like creating an account on a number of other existing websites. Once you have registered for an account, you will be able to log in from any browser and create and monitor your lotteries.

When you create a lottery, you must provide a unique (to your lotteries) code which is used as the reason code when people purchase tickets for your lottery. This is the code you provide to purchasers and is what makes the system work, as without this code the system wouldn't know what lottery to associate a payment to.

Each lottery has a listing cost based on the total revenue generated by the lottery. When you create a lottery, it is set as inactive until you send payment to MyEveLotto (this character) with the reason code provided during lottery creation. The next time the API script runs (every half hour) it will set your lottery live.

When your lottery is live, you can link to it using the following format: myevelotto.com/lottery/[lottery id]

You can also link to a page displaying all your active and completed lotteries with the following format: myevelotto.com/lottery/[character name]

What is the Automatic Internal Rolling System?

This rolling system is a random number generator integrated into myEVElotto. When all the tickets in your lottery have been purchased or the end date of your lottery has been reached, the system automatically selects the winner(s) at random and displays their name and ticket number next to the prize won.

We realize that there is considerable trust for third party rolling systems like Chibbra Dice, and as such allow a link to a third party die roller to be assigned to the lottery instead. However, this requires the host to manually determine the winner upon lottery completion.

How Much Does it Cost to Host a Lottery?

The cost to host a lottery is based on the total value of the ticket revenue (total number of tickets x ticket price).

Up to 1B ISK: 10m ISK
>1B to 2B ISK: 20m ISK
>2B to 5B ISK: 50m ISK
>5B to 10B ISK: 75m ISK
>10B ISK: 100m ISK
Unlimited Tickets: 25M ISK

If you intend to use the system extensively, contact us to discuss the possibility of bulk pricing.

Does myEVElotto Guarantee its Lotteries?

Because myEVElotto was designed to be freely used by anyone, we cannot guarantee or warranty lotteries from potential scams. We accept no responsibility for any scams or harm done by hosts of lotteries using the myEVElotto system. Please exercise due diligence and research any host prior to purchasing tickets just as you would any other lottery.

That being said, if any hosts are discovered to be scammers, they will no longer be granted access to host lotteries. We will strive to maintain as much security as possible with a public system. After all, it is our reputation at stake.

If you discover any scam lotteries on our site, please EVE-Mail MyEveLotto (this character) to alert us of the violator.

What if I Find a Bug?

If you find any bugs in the system, please EVE-Mail MyEveLotto (this character) to alert us of the bug. We offer a reward if you are the first to report the bug, and you will earn our gratitude.

If you have any questions about the system, please feel free to ask here, through EVE-Mail or in our channel, MyEVELotto!

can you limit the number of entries per player over a period of time, for example 1 entry per calendar day per player?

I could set up an option for that. However, you'd then run into a problem on how to handle the excess. If someone sends you payment for 2 tickets on a particular day, does the excess get ignored and thus kept as a "donation" or should the excess ticket be marked in as a refund ticket?

Either way, it's a good idea and I'll add it to the list of additions for the system.

Thanks!

Greetings!

The first suggested modification/feature addition has gone in place!

The added feature is the ability to have an open-ended lottery. Specifically, a desire was mentioned where a host might want to have an unlimited number of tickets and a set end date for the lottery. Now, myEVElotto supports this type of lottery! When you create a lottery, simply check the "Unlimited" checkbox under the entry for how many tickets are allowed and set a close date (required for an unlimited ticket lottery as there has to be some end criteria).

The cost for hosting a lottery with unlimited tickets is 25m ISK.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.

As this is a service to others, not a lottery in and of itself and has a duplicate here, this thread gets a lock.

16. Redundant and re-posted threads will be locked.

As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread.
