Player Owned Stations in Lowsec/Highsec

Pretty simple, open up some NPC stations in Lowsec and Highsec (mostly Lowsec) for player ownership.

Why? Bring some of the fun fights to empire space (and long drawn out structure bashing as a consequence as well) and it would provide a more meaningful purpose for wardecs. As a side bonus it gives relatively new players a taste of what null sec sov warfare is like.

Owning these stations would provide the normal benefits of owning your own station and also allowing you to profit from non-alliance/coalition members using your services.

Now how much freedom of control should an alliance/corporation have over these stations? I actually don't know. It could possibly be anywhere from full control (similar to nullsec outposts) to locked settings that allow public use, but personal profit. The station owner would also receive discounts on certain services for their own members that they could set themselves (free repairs, cheaper processing and manufacturing, etc.) adding incentive to own certain stations.

Station guns would still remain and enforce empire rules based on the faction that owns the system and they would also be allowed to fire on war targets that attempt to stay on the station.

The normal station flipping mechanics would come in affect with reinforce timers and the dreaded stucture bash (this might be a reason why highest would be a bad idea, no capitals to assist)

This is just a slightly unfinished idea I had so feel free to add your own opinions or flame it down to oblivion

while i'm sure everyone hasn't quite got enough structure grinding to do i'm not really sure enforcing it on Low sec as well would be a great idea.
one of the bigger reasons for the corps and alliances choosing to live in 0.0 npc or low sec is specifically to avoid this playstyle, becasue pretty much everyone would agree that currently sov mechanics and all of the nice things that come along with it i.e. station flipping, are intensly boring.

On the the upside the hints dropped at fan fest suggest the xmas patch was goign to be focused towards empire building, which might means changes to these things are made, and this couls possible then become a more attractive option.

OK, in seriousness, the idea is terrible for highsec for the "no capitals" bit you mentioned. However, I could see something like this being workable in lowsec. There's already a FW variant of the idea, so it shouldn't be too terribly hard to adapt it to not be tied to FW for the deeper/non-FW losec regions.

Then again, structure bashing .... Ugh

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
