Machine Info and Settings

  • OS version: Mac OS 10.6.8
  • CPU: 2.66 GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon
  • GPU: ATI Radeon 4870
  • RAM: 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
  • How many clients were you running at the same time? Three clients
  • Graphic setting of the client (low / medium / high): 1920*1200 resolution; all other graphics settings were minimum possible

User Experience

  • Average FPS during fight at the gate in FD-MLJ, with brackets disabled - Zoomed out: 2 frames per second
  • Average FPS - Zoomed in: Near zero. It was literally a slideshow. Not figuratively a slideshow, it was literally a slideshow.
  • On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome) - 1, way worse, completely unplayable
  • Did you experience any disconnects or crashes? No crashes or disconnects.
  • Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: The framerate was so sluggish that the interface was failing to detect mouseclicks. Locking targets from fleet broadcasts was extremely problematic. It got bad enough that I just docked up and then looked for the feedback thread.

On another note, it would be a good idea to have Aura speak a phrase of some sort to explain why warping isn't possible. One of my clients was being prevented from warping, and I couldn't tell by what. "You are being warp disrupted." "You are being warp scrambled." "You are inside a warp interdiction field." A text notification is useless in such a situation, it has to be spoken by Aura.

[edit] I was docked in FD-MLJ for the node remapping. After the system came back up, I logged back in, undocked, and ran my resistance modules and launched drones. I then recalled drones, and warped to the other station and docked. Everything seemed fine. [/edit]

FPS seemed to be worse than I am usually accustomed, but I just rebuilt my computer so it could be something else.

I crashed once during the tower shoot.

The remap in FD- didn't seem to go entirely well, when I reconnected I found my fighter bombers missing.
    this is concerning :(

Mainly a good run, worked a lot better than a lot of my larger missions (Worlds Collide), I run on a laptop, not an expensive gaming laptop, a rubbist £250 laptop that is 3-4 years old. I congratulate you, you got almost 600 people in one area and I only crashed one, while fully zoomed in and trying to warp. Congratz!

    Just one client.
Graphics settings: tried high and low.

Average FPS barely increased when I went from high to low. About 6fps on high and about 10fps on low. I checked Task Manager, CPU usage was about 50% and EVE was using 1.3GB of RAM.
No disconnects or crashes, but seemed like graphics performance was a bit slower than TQ, but less lag for sure. I would have to give this test a 4 on FPS performance compared to TQ.
Overall was a fun experience, first mass test. Can't complain much except for the few people that can't follow directions, but what can you do.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: there were some issues with the brackets turning them selfs back on after turning them off. also when new people would jump in to the system it also appeared that the "backs off" wouldn't work with them as they'd appear with brackets around them. The new Cyno effect is awesome looking however extreamly random in which direction it goes in, I don't know if that's normal or not.
