Believing in free speech doesn't mean stupidity should be tolerated or treated with respect.

"Everyone has their own truth" is the kind of thing you tell a child. Adults have the maturity to actually stand up for positions and principles and tell others when they're wrong.

Good luck ending racism, while your at it, end world hunger , cure cancer, develop sustainable mass produced energy. Oh and world peace.

People that seem to be defending racism are ignorant in the extreme. The nature of freedom is countries based on laws means that some freedoms need to be given up to insure a fair and just society. Thankfully, the sort of "freedoms" we are talking about are things like murder, raping, stealing and even racism. Sure there are plenty of people in the world that like to do these things, but unfortunately they have no place in civilalized society.

Racism essentially boils down to ignorance. I could have been bullied by a kid with a big nose when i was younger, and grow up to have a deep hatred towards everyone with a big nose. Stupid huh? I mean, everyone is completely different, people with big noses are going to be competely different too. But that doesn't matter to me, those damn big nosed bastards are scum, the lot of them!

Justify it anyway you like, but racism is just as stupid as this. You could pick just about any feature to apply ignorant prejudices, eye colour, gender, skin colour, religion, national background. If you happen to have one of these prejudices, then quite franky i feel sorry for you. I recommend you think back, find the route source of your ignorance, be that some sort of negative experience or good old family indoctrination, and rethink your position. Cause quite franky, your wrong!

Luxemburgs ideal freedom of speech was, as all other things in socialism, independent of the notion "private property", but in socialliberal or capitalistic countries private property by default allows you to curtail others rights on your property.
The extend can vary a lot, but generally freedom of speech is not a thing on private property.
At the same time, the list of societies that does not limit some speech in public - death threats, releasing classified/personal information, hate speech and often much more - is very short. The "freedom of speech" in most countries is exactly the freedom to say stuff that is already agreed on.

Agreeing with a statement, and acknowledging the right to utter a statement, by the way, are two very different things. In Europes left wing parties there have been and are still continued debates whether right wing parties should be confronted with debate and discussion, in essence acknowledging their opinions by opposing them in public discourse, or whether they should be attempted silenced, mostly by ignoring their statements and the general "political correctness" policy.
