I was wondering if Eve has a token system for login available? I know some other games and many business uses ether hard or soft tokens along with user name and password in order to protect accounts. I was curious if Eve has something similar?

You are refering to an authenticator? They are annoying at times, and unless you put them back in the same.. general area and keep that part of your desk clean, you can misplace them and then have to go on a search. Does this game need them? Probably not. Would it be a good idea to have them? As long as they are not manditory, yes.

No, they don't. It's something players have been requesting for quite a while, which is understandable considering the high value of some Eve accounts.

CCP gave out these authenticators at 2011 Fanfest I believe, but never followed up and activated them :/

You mean two factor authentication. And sadly, it's not available.

I do like the mobile app versions of these authenticators though, since I always have my mobile phone with me. The embedded authenticators can be quite a b****, yes... Once in a while you find yourself willing to log-in at another place than home but realise you didn't take your authenticator with you...

If they're needed? Possibly not, even though it's a good security increase for a small price. For now I just keep it with a password long enough to make sure brute forcing will take at least several years =)

CCP introducing something and not following up... you lie...
