So I was learning how to scan and found a wormhole. It said it was stable for atleast a day.
Feeling brave, I went inside and started scanning inside, found some grav sites and then a radar site that was guarded by three battleships.

Oh I thought, I want what's in those cans, three BS's can't be to bad right. Grabbed my lvl 4 Raven and my alt in her Raven. Flew back, warped in and aligned for a warp out, safety first right.

I setup my shields with an EM hardenter II and Thermal II and two Invuln IIs, warped in at 100k so I'd have time to get comfy before the fight got interesting. Boy whas I mistaken, they made the fight interesting in about 10 seconds. Ripped thru my shields like I didn't even have hardeners running. Managed to warp out with just under half my armor left. Shocked

I only recently returned to Eve, got any tips on how to handle that kind of damage, they'd have popped both my Ravens in under a minute if I'd have tried anything other than running away.

Sleepers are certainly fun!

The other piece of information you need about a wormhole is what class it is too. There are various clues to this but I find the easiest is the colour. Greenish and bluey green are C1 and c2 - they are still challenging but do-able. Reder ones c4-c6 will eat the solo capsuleer alive.

You need an omni tank too - make sure your resists are as high as possible across the board.

Oh and don't sacrifice the gank either. Sleepers have pretty solid tanks and good rep'r systems.

For my money wormhole space is where it's at though. Lot's of adrenalin.

the w-space 'rats' or sleepers deliver omni damage, which means pretty evenly spread across all types of damage. So to tank them you need to have your resistances (shield armor whatever) pretty even and pretty high.

Depending on what class w-system you tried you will meet mixed success with a single battleship, even well setup. You should be fine in class 1, but even class 2 will be not-so-easy until you're a bit better sorted out.

They also omni-tank, and have no shields, so you just hit them with whichever damage gives you the best DPS ... e.g. kinetic from drake / tengu.

If you want to learn more, and get involved more in w-space (and it's a great place to learn and to earn) then you might want to look at joining a dedicated w-space corp / alliance.

Happy sleeper killing.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

There is no Radar site has 3 BS’s at start, so can’t tell what class you were in, and the fact you don’t know will mean swift and certain death going forward

You should be using Static Mapper to know where you are and Eve-survival on how the site should run. Ravens are far from the best choice for WH’s. They have a place as mission runners, but if your Caldari spec’d, go with Drake, Nighthawk or Tengu. And as said above, you want omni tank and look at RR for if and when you look at joining a WH corp that run the higher class sites

Edit: I guess there is a Radar site with 3 BS's and I should have read the survival guide properly instead of the capital escalation part only Oops See how important it is

Enclave Relay - Class 5.

3 Keeper Battleships, hell of a lot of dmg - however, keepers are the weakest of the battleships, tank wise, you will find in a class 5/6.

And there would have been a 4th battleship if a talocan battleship would have been there :)

By all means come and explore WSpace but watch your Dscan constantly or you will be killed :-)

I'd stick to the Class 1/2 sites to begin with, Most omnitanked BC's can handle these well. As sait above you can find out information on the wormhole using static mapper and the sites using eve survival.

Somewhere roudn here someone did an everything about Wspace guide..I'd read that.

The drake is probably a better ship to start in wh space then the raven. sleepers can neut, especially in the higher classes and an active tank will be dead very very soon.

there are several tools to see in what class wormhole you are. warmnav, dotlan, staticmapper etc. learn to use the sites or you will die by happily hopping into c4+ and get scram web and neut on you and a raven peeled from you in a matter of seconds.

also realize that wh's have a lot pvp. when youre running sites, check dscan constantly. if someone sees your wrecks, theyll come to relieve you of your ship.

WH can be a great place to live and make money, but it has some of its own rules that will kill you if you dont know them. You might want to join the Talocan United chat channel. Even if you are not looking for a corp/alliance right now it is still a very active channel with wh people only. always good for a chat
