Demand for off-grid boosters in incursions?

I'm closing in on max skills for a covert link tengu to boost my corp during fleet ops. It occurs to me that the same skills would let me fly a 6-link tengu for incursions with max skills and the mindlink.

Is there a big demand for non-multiboxed OGBs in incursions? How does reward-sharing usually work?

Thanks!

Most fleets I joined already had one, or one of the pilots in the fleet volunteers to bring his. So usually the demand for one is pretty low.

Payment was either non-existant (especially if the booster is an alt of an active pilot) but some fleets suggested giving a tip. Only once did a FC ask for a fee - I think he wanted 1M per site and pilot, which in a 10-12 pilot fleet is a bit on the high side IMO.

I've flown with two groups recently. One is usually looking for OGBs, and is always good about reminding people to tip them (suggested 5%). The other I think may take care of OGBs internally, or at least I've not heard them solicit for them. So look around a bit, ask the different communities, I'd say.

isnt it around 10mil payout+LP per site.

1m sounds like spare change but ofc it depends on how good his boosts were

speaking of which, when is the change for CS's coming? Thought it was supposed to be in this latest expansion. I know there has been all kinds of discussion on changing CS boosting from off grid to on grid.

Caution, rubber gloves and faceshield required when handling this equipment.

I'm sure it'll show up in a sticky in Features and Ideas when they're ready to commit to something.

having a 6 link tengu sitting in an incursion system for hours on end is asking for it to be ganked. Most public fleets use max 4 link t3 so they can fit alittle tank on the t3.

If you want to use 6 links then use a command ship.

I certainly wouldn't count on any sort of consistent income as a pure booster. Folks who run incursions "for a living" typically either have a perfect leadership alt they can use for free, or have plenty of ISK to grab one off the forums. Perfect leadership pilots aren't rare.

It's not worth it if you're doing it for the ISK, do it for the community and the thanks,

Most people don't tip, not intentionally mind, it's just they don't think or care about the bonuses they're getting, they just expect the logis to keep them alive and as long as the FC keeps the fleet running and makes sure they make ISK, they don't care that the FC is tired and having to deal with complete muppets,

That would depend entirely on which community you are flying with, we dont wish for our FC's to burn out.

Regarding OGB's they are usually established before any fleets take off, either from a alt in the active fleet or a afk FC who just lets it run in some deep safe.

As far as tips, it varies... Some FC's take a little some do not, I haven't personally been asked to tip the OGB in the time I've flown with my community.

Off grid booster are not on grid so don't get payed by being in fleet.

I'm part of one channel which ask for donation to same character each time after fleet, usually 10 million if fleet makes more then 200 mill in 2 hours of running. Every few days, usually a week they pay out OGB's by splitting the income to each OGB and keeping one part of it for other forms of rewards in forms of ship modules, plexes, etc.

Channel is only using it's own OGB's, and atm has about 4 active OGB's and about 3-4 who can be called on 1-2 day notice if needed. They always use 2 per fleet (each FC has siege if needed, but they usually let somebody else take OGB role if available) and from what I've heard they split 35% of income to each OGB and can sustain 6 OGB's on constant payroll for plex/month.

I have also been boosting for various channels and while some of them ask pilots to directly donate and you might get more ISK from all donation, usually I didn't get to much, even once boosted HQ fleet for 4 hours and got about 20 million in donations, where in this one particular channel I usually get about 30 mill for 2-3 hours each day I boost.

10m per hour seems pretty good to me for an OGB. Sitting off grid in a ship isn't exactly demanding work.

Yep, and in my way of seeing it, if you can get yourself that kind of deal, 2-3 hours per day for 20 days, you get to plex your toon for just leaving it in space and doing something else with your other toons, like making that nice 100 mill per hour running in the fleet as well :)

You might want to read fozzie's, (the acolyte of soundwave, the original destroyer of high sec income), posts about command ships and links.
Incursions are about to be decimated by the huge nerfs and restrictions placed on command ships.

Plus, the life of the OGB CS is soon ending, though not in 1.1.

So getting into a command ship for OGB work is soon to end.

Honestly I don't think the 10% loss of Logi cycle time is really going to hit that hard, but the % loss of resists is still a mystery to me, will have to wait for the test server to be updated to know for sure.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

I don't really care, with logies and fits I'm usually flying we don't need OGB anyways (2 rigs + DCU + A-type, more then enough for VG, if you are paranoid stick extender or 2nd invul for assualt / HQ), web is going to be a bit of pain, but meh... bring it... some of us ain't into incursion for the ISK alone, we prefer company.

I've known 2 guys who flown regularly with us and went to 0.0 exploration, and are making 1-2 bill per 2-3 hours and once or twice in two weeks they score 5-6 bill in 2-3 hours. WH C5 and C6 can also make you more, true, its more of risk, and with WH you need to secure the hole and all the other crap, but truth to be told, not sure about WH, but in 0.0 exploration you are solo or with one or two more guys. I prefer to fly with 10-20 other guys and having a good laugh, so, even if they nerf it as far as lvl 4 mission income, I will still do it.

WTF? Actually more people will be flying Command Ships. T3s are getting hit hard with the nerf. I can't wait to see what the faction mindlinks are going to bring.
