Interdictor (+ Destroyer) Balance

Hello all,

Newly returned to the game (I played heavily 2006-9) and I'm making a beeline for Interdictors as a universally useful PVP ship. Sadly it seems there's still little point in training for anything other than a Sabre (unless you count the other three being cheap because they're not nearly as good.)

Is there any support for a Dictor rebalance and/or new Destroyers/Dictors? It makes me sad that there's no T2 Destroyer hull for lasers, nor is there one dedicated for hybrids (not counting the split-bonus Eris). But mostly I'm a bit peeved that the Sabre outclasses the other Dictors to such a ridiculous degree that I'm deviating from my plan of having an initially Amarr focused character just so I can fly a competitive Interdictor.

You might be interested in the destroyer buffs on sisi, coming in the winter expansion.

Sounds interesting; are they documented anywhere? Haven't set myself up on sisi yet.

Just Destroyers affected, or Dictors too?

The destroyers are getting a nice buff. They're signature radii are being decreased. The Thrasher is down to 56m and the Cormorant is 68m. The rest are in between. They're also getting a 10% hitpoint increase and the ROF penalty is being removed.

I played around in a catalyst on SISSI last night. In one encounter I was through a Hyperion's shields before it could even lock me. I was significantly into it's armour (25%-30%) before it could get the transversal in his favour. In another fight multiple BS sent their drones after me piecemeal. I was in armour when I stopped taking damage - the ship had taken out three flights of mediums. As fast as they could be locked they were going down.

I don't think Dictors are getting the same love. CCP misses details like that. P

Interesting news about Destroyers, I'll look forward to checking them out.

I still think Sabres wildly outclassing the other three Dictors sucks though!

Is there any reason why the cormorant signature is that high?

CCP hates Caldari. Buy even then, 100 DPS and 300 salvoes at 70km is a no-fly zone for interceptors. The Coercer and Catalyst have sig radii in the 60s too. CCP loves their Winmatar too.

They're getting a boost for sure but since Sabre is getting the same boost, we're at the starting point, Sabre > every thing else.

Wait.... DIC's are now getting the destroyer boost too? Is there a new SISI patch or dev post??
