Xlarge capacitor batteries

I feeo that large capacitor batteries don't scale up properly in comparison to small batteries as far as how much cap they add, so I think that instead of buffing large capacitor batteries (which would likely result in a fitting increase) that there should be another tier of cap batteries with fitting and capacitor added scaled for use on a BS, what I had in mind was having them have similar fitting to heavy cap boosters and give around double, if not more cap than large batteries give. As a whole, I also feel that cap batteries should have a higher resistance to nosferatus and neutralizers.

Any thoughts?

I agree to this product and/or service.

ATM large cap batteries are a module to fit on oneiros or RR-legions, never used it anywhere else. Both are cruisers.
X-Large variations (pls fix those battery-cpu stats) are lacking to add an edge to BS sized cap warfare - nobody will ever use a Battleship midslot for a passive module with some features and irrelevant stats, unless fighting a 10man bhaalgorn-gang. I doubt there is such a thing.

The problem with cap batteries is the excessive fitting requirements and ofc they aren't really worth using over cap boosters or cap rechargers ... one way around this could be to make them low slot mods as cap relays can be a pain to use if you are using shield boosters.. micro cap boosters would also be nice low slot mods

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

All cap batteries need their cap bonus increased or their fitting decreased. By roughly double. The problem is less about size scaling, and just that they aren't good enough to fit in the first place.

The fitting is also a major problem, as the only time I can find room for them is on pve drone boats, particularly the vexor since I don't have to worry about gun dps as much and have a lot more pg to spare. Also, even the Xlarge battery in the database could use more pg, since the small batteries scale to being 1/4th, if not more of the base cap amount of the majority of frigates.

If CCP introduces XL cap batteries then we will see more fittings using cap batteries and then players will start using the smaller ones more often as well simply because the idea of fitting one becomes more popular.

I wouldn't portray it as being that simple, since they would have to still compete with cap boosters still, which would still provide more sustained cap over a long period compared to an initial higher amount. For them to become more viable, the advantages have to be accentuated.

How about they flesh out the rest of XL modules?


  • Capital Capacitor Boosters
  • Capital Energy Destabilizers
  • Capital Energy Vampires
  • Capital Armor Plates
  • Capital Shield Extenders
  • Capital Hull Repair Systems
  • Capital Afterburner and MicroWarpDive (no real reason to do it though)
  • Capital MicroJump Drive (same as above)

By Xl, I'm referring to something similar to a x large shield booster as far as how much fitting space it takes. As far as the cap mods, for the plates and extenders I would rather have armor layering plates be made useful and that something similar is made for shields. I agree with your opinion on the last two modules though.

Large Batteries are good on a few PVE ships ,T3 or cruiser sized but anything bigger than that and they are useless.

If you are getting heavy neuts applied you are doing to drain to 0 pretty quick either way and the 12.5% return is not a huge deal given most nuet ships have cap boosters. At least with a cap booster you can actively fight neuts.

with an XL battery at least there would be a few applications in BC/ BS's.
