I agree. There needs to be a list of those who do not honor ransoms. They hurt the business for the rest of us.

CVA is great at lists I believe

One of my alts recently paid some Nulli Secunda guys a ransom, steep price but they honored it. Deciding on a price has got to be tricky too

Where are these lists? Honestly, there should be a stickied (or well bumped) list at the top of this forum so it's easy to find. List in the OP of corps that honour vs. don't honour and finding what you need to know is a simple ctrl-f away. Would help diminish the impact of those who don't honour ransoms putting your future prey off the idea.

I believe it was on the pre-evegate forums. I did a google search but I'm tired/lazy and couldn't find it. It does exist, and it's old as dirt, so would most definately need to be updated (read: may no longer be accurate.) Sorry I can't be of more help than that.

Edit: So I just happened to scroll a bit further down the google search and there it was XD http://eve-search.com/thread/1427306-0/page/all

I presume this is the kind of think you are referring to?

Well it's not entirely your fault. Its this new exploration expansion called Odyssey, which dumbed down exploration so that even someone like yourself can get in a helios and run the harmless profession sites in low or null without having to deal with rats, which in turn crashed the t2 materials and invention market. Just look at the price history on the market over the last few months for any decryptor or intact armor plate and you can see how alarming this is.

So there are certain people who feel it is their duty to clean up these tourists, and maybe some day running profession sites will require some skill and the market will heal itself.

I fear though, that the good duty of the former skilled explorer turned pirate like Saji (these new profession site explorers are the lowest rung of explorer) will have to suffice. As rats are not likely to return to the profession sites until next expansion (if ever).

The tourists ruined the lowsec exploration market so we are responding in-kind.

Catching someone a second time within just a few days and him saying: argh not you again - how much do I have to pay this time ? ... I dont know - call me weird, this gives me a damn good feeling inside.

Blowing someone up after ransoming them - gives me nothing but a bad reputation.
My word is all I have and if that word isnt worth anything anymore - i might aswell become a miner or missionrunner.

I like this. Smile

Doesn't make it the only way to do piracy of course, but it does reduce uncertainty.

If folks anticipate that you'll honor a ransom, well, they're more likely to be bring up a money transfer than grabbing the batphone. After all, if your reputatiobn is solid, it's a sure thing - much more reliable than the batphone, which may not be answered, and probably won't be answered in time.

Of course, the alternative is folks like me who'll reject the ransom offer, and tell you to just pod me.
