Google has this asked and answered before the agent changes. But I wasn't sure if the agent changes changed this.

Anyone know if negotiation increases the lp pay out for missions?

Found this:

LP = Base * [1 + 0.05*(Skill1Level+Skill2Level)] * [1 + (EQ/100)] * AgentTypeModifier * SystemSecModifier

EQ is effective agent quality, so negotiation helps.

Yes I saw these older posts too. I wasn't sure if it still helped, since they removed agent quality.

Mining Connections

The Divisional Connection skills will increase the amount of LP's gained.

Negotiation skill helps increase agent effective quality which helps increase the amount of reward gained.

Having high agent effective quality is supposed to increase the chance of agent offering the larger, more profitable missions more often.

Since those missions usually include a large amount of LP's, the Negotiation skill could be viewed as having an indirect positive effect towards the amount of LP Points gained.

Anyway, whether it does or doesn't help LP's, it definitely wouldn't hurt to train up the Negotiation skill.

EDIT:
Agent effective quality is still in-game. Each time you complete a mission for the agent, it increases standing with agent and it's effective quality.

Quality still exist, every agent now counts as q20, and negotiation still increases that q20. Effective quality has no bearing on which mission is offered.

There's actually 2 types of 'Quality' in this game when it pertains to agents.

The first type is Agent Quality.
All agents are accessed as -20 Agent Quality which gives players lower standing requirement for access. All agents pay reward as +20 Agent Quality which gives players higher rewards and standing gains.

Nothing other than CCP can alter or change this type of 'Quality'.

The second type is Agent Effective Quality.
As you complete missions for agent, this standing will increase causing the agent to 'Like' you better. If you fail or decline too many missions, this standing will decrease causing the agent to 'Dislike' you even worse to the point of having no missions offered.

Social skills and player interaction can alter or change this type of 'Quality'.

EDIT:

Agent location also has an effect on rewards. If the LP's are considered part of the agent reward, agent location might affect the amount of LP's gained.

Agent location = A difference of 0.1 in system security level from 1.0 down to 0.0 translates into a 10% increase in rewards.

Does it have an effect on how many lp you get for the same mission?

If I run the same exact mission for the same exact agent will I get more lp if I have a higher lever of negotiation trained?

Yes, both LP and isk rewards. Not bounty, of course.

I trained negotiation from 4->5 recently. Such a tiny increase in reward (isk and lp) for doing lvl5s that I'd say it isn't worth it if you're doing high sec lvl4s.
