I want to skill up for incursions

I've trained as a Miner mainly, a bit of trade too. I can fly a T1 fitted Drake (my old corp made me train up for minimal fit to help defend in wardecs) but mining and trading have become SO boring for me. I have about 340mil ISK but I can't really find the motivation to do Trading anymore. I've seen Incursions being run and decided I wanna try that out...

So what sort of skills should I start training if I want to do incursions? What's the minimal requirements? Does anyone have a skillsheet/plan? I'd like to fly Caldari or Gallente ships if possible :3

Thanks

Go read this http://incursions.nexsoft.de/?mode=news , check out the fittings page and work out what skills you need to fit the T2 fits, T2 is pretty much the minimum you need.

There is a split in Incursions between Shield and Armour communities, shield is arguably 'better' for you if you have the skills to fly a Drake.

When I started running Incursions I bought a Navy Geddon to start with as this was the cheapest ship that I could fly well to start me off in Incursions, even though I could have gotten a Nightmare or a Mach I started cheap and T2 fit to learn Incursions 1st. Go look up TVP The Valhalla Project (In game Channel), they are a inclusive (non Shiney) Incursion Shield Community. For you and your skills the skills/ship progression would probably be Raven -> Navy Raven -> Rattlesnake.

Train for t2 guns on any battleship, if your primary dps is drones or missiles your going to find it hard to get into fleet.

I'd recommend checking out some of the newbie-friendly communities (this thread has a lot of general info, including a somewhat up-to-date community list). A lot of them have lists of recommended ship fittings. You can use that as a basis of what to train.

If you like missiles, you'd probably be able to get into HQ fleets with a Raven (regular or, preferably, Navy). If you want to be able to also get into Vanguard fleets, though, you'll need to train guns. So if you like Caldari/Gallente, train up Hybrids and look for recommended Megathron or Rokh fittings. Your ultimate goal will probably be a Vindicator (if you want to stick with Hybrids).

"Quickest" way to get involved (nothing will truly be quick) will be to fly logistics. Added benefit will be that your corpies will love you. To do it right, train Caldari Cruiser to V, Logistics to IV, Energy/Shield Transfer to IV, Sensor Linking to IV, and make sure you have a solid T2 tank with appropriate fitting and rigging skills. Then, once you get a feel for it, boost Logistics skill to V (long train, totally worth it). After that, get Minmatar Crusier V . . . suddenly, you've got two beast shield logi and lots of friends. Soon you will be swimming in isk and LP.

If you'd rather DPS, pick the pirate ship you would love to ball in, and work backwards. For example, if you wanna decimate frigs, you'll want a Vindicator, meaning on your way there you'll want to fly a racial battleship that is a prereq for the Vindi (Megathron or Maelstrom) or a racial battleship that uses hybrid turrets (Rokh). Come in with a T2 tank, T2 drones, and decent gunnery skills (IV for starters). Then upgrade those blasters to T2, or upgrade your Racial Battleship skills to V, but whatever you chose first do the other one next. Soon you'll have a hideously expensive hull that you can pimp out with even more hideously expensive modules, and print your own isk.

Third option is to get a T3 Strategic Cruiser. Still requires training a racial cruiser to V, but instead of Caldari you'll want to go Minmatar (meh) or Amarr (best option). You'll want your Legion subsystems to V and t2 medium weapons (shorter train than those damn T2 large weapons) and then have at it. All told, depending on where you are at skill wise, you'll need about a month of training to be passable, and 5-6 months to be good and or desirable.

Don't try starting with a BC, post tracking changes it's not worth it, and getting into a battleship with basic gunnery/missile support skills is not too difficult. Also, be aware that in general you'll want to favor shield tanks and turrets over armor tank and missiles, unless you know exactly who you will be flying with and know their doctrines.
