Awww, but I liked the idea of teleporting sentry drones....

making drones teleport into your bay would be a fundamental rebalance of drones, not a fix to an annoying problem that mission runners face.

if so, you just made the Ishtar viable for sniping. if not, then meh.

Any drones in space when you get forced into an emergency warp (this doesn't happen for normal warping) will attempt to return to your drone bay as though you issued the command yourself. If they are too far away, or your ship can align and warp out before they get back, you'll leave them behind.

im not complaining, i just wanna state that this actually does nothing for mission runners who use sentry drones (unless the ship is right next to the drones upon disconnect). the drones will still take over aggro while youre gone, and get pummeled on.

a good change nonetheless for those who use light/medium drones in pve.

why not? why not make this a new option for drones, were when I warp out they try to return to my ship before I warp? what is the argument for not to do it also in normal warp outs?

there is absolutely no rational argument for not allowing drones to teleport into their drone bay on specialized drone boats when you initiate warp. i mean, do turrets and missile launchers get left behind when u warp? lol. allowing this would not break balance in any way. it would just make drone boats more viable in roaming gangs.

but i understand why this is probably asking too much. this slight drone buff was a part of team BFF, not some rebalancing project.

Ideally NPCs should break aggro on inactive drones, or at least not make them new targets. Players usually ignore abandoned drones (at least until the end of a fight), why shouldn't NPCs?

I made the same argument, but there are some razor thin edge cases to consider like "I might have survived if my ECM drones hadn't recalled while I aligned for warp", which kind of necessitates a new drone setting which ultimately ended up being deemed out of scope for the task at hand.

But fear not, I went out of my way to make it easy to revisit easily later. The functionality itself is just a flag to set when warping that, at the moment, only e-warp sets.

currently there is no drones in distant space tab in the drone bay. And drones to not stay linked after warp off if they are left.

Hopefully this feature was removed so it could be improved with a relink option for drones in distant space.

Thanks for making PVE, in potentially hostile enviroments, a little easier to do in a drone boat CCP!

This all looks pretty good to me. Just downloading test server only to test that.
Its hard to trust my eyes reading that you are really busy in making some new content into eve. Really i like that.

So when you are now into the drone work, how about fixing the drone AI even more ?
I wish i could "program" my drones with a bit more behavior, eg. using scripts or something. How about hat ?
I REALLY REALLY wish drones for looting and/or doing the salvage, i would pay a billion for a set of 5.

Man, i seriously have to change my opinion about ccp development. Keep up the good work !

That would be great, but entirely pointless until they actually follow the orders and settings we give them. Currently my expectations on drone AI are so low, that I'd settle for drones that focus fire when ordered and don't randomly choose targets on their own or alternatively stop shooting targets entirely depending on your drone aggression settings. I love flying drone boats as an idea, but every time i actually fly them I end up hating it because the little buggers need constant herding to get them to do what I ordered.

Personally, I use the ol' jammer hornet gtfo trick to save my skin pretty regularly, so I appreciate them not disengaging when I warp out. If this is to be revisited later, perhaps it could be a default action you could adjust in your eve settings? This is an awesome change... I can see why probably more pilots than those that agree with me on the default action of the drones exist, and I see where they are coming from... but as a guy who's usually out numbered and out gunned, the system CCP just created there is without flaw.

they probably want to leave that for fighters and fighter bombers.
