Greetings.

I want to do things like 5-10 player PVP skirmishes and sometimes attacking groups much larger than my group. Is there an area in Eve that would allow me to team up with like-minded PVPers? I love watching to alliance tournament and would love to join a Corp that does that type of thing. Help!

What about Corps like Kings and Rooks? They do small skirmish pvp, but they don't do FW or RVB.

Here is a guide that will help you find the kind of corp you are looking for.

Use that good guide.

2 small things though;

1. Rooks and Kings are good at what they do. But its more 'elite' PvP.

2. Although AT is nice to see, keep in mind that it is arena style pvp and in no way represent general PvP in EVE.

If you are relatively inexperienced with PVP give RVB a try. They offer no stress, no commitment pvp which will allow you to sample all sorts of fleet sizes. The also like to roam through 0.0. occasionally

There are plenty of corps willing to accept newer players into PVP. Check out the recruitment forum.

You may want to take a look at these guys. http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/74260 They seem to be new player friendly and enjoy their PVP.

OP, you just described piracy to a tee. I suggest looking to pirate corps in low sec. Most are very very newbie friendly since pirates favor small hulls and a new player can fly frigs and destroyers as well as anybody quite quickly.

That is the path I took and wouldn't have it any other way. I also only ran this one toon, no alts, so that declining sec status actually mattered. An RP choice to embrace the 'life' of a pirate in Eve without dodging the sec status mechanic. It was playing Eve 'as intended' and it was fun. I had to make friends, do favors, fly escort, all just to survive as a bad guy.

My .02 isk worth- go fight some pirates and be cool in local after losing (as you are sure to). Ask for fitting advice, tactics, etc...pirates are just gamer dorks like everyone else and will talk your ears off over PvP numbers. Let them know your situation and what you are looking for in Eve, and they'll point you in the right direction- even if it's not piracy.

Not going to name drop, but when I lived in Molden Heath there were several pirate corps that specifically ran 'feeder' corps for new players. Sort of like prospecting for a biker gang. Many successful pirates are alts for some industrial magnate, so the sheer generosity of older players can surprise you.

Remember, the two most important things you can bring to the table for any corp you wish to join, are:
1) active player.........all the SP in the world doesn't matter if you don't log in.
2) attitude.................we're all just trying to have fun. In PvP especially, loss is part of playing and even losing should still be fun. It is still just a game.

I will again offer- pick a fleet role to specialize in. Tackle is really the go-to for new players, but it isn't a throw away role by any means. Professional Grade Tackle (tm) runs all the way to Hictors getting point on capital ships. Take the time to explore a given role and you'll find a new dimension to PvP. It's far more than spamming Orbit and F1.

Do your homework. Learn the D-Scan, it is essential. Know how to use the map before undocking. Spend time actually learning the 'lay of the land' around where you operate. Set up safes during boring times. Learn every single timer that Eve runs on, not just the ones with graphics displayed on screen. Learn the ships in the game, how they are commonly fitted and used, and if your ship can take it on--- this is a never-ending education and I learn something on every fleet I go on even after playing Eve for just over 3 years now. Read the dev blogs and just be aware in general.
