Put the sounds + flashes back in stargates

Guess what, it's super annoying that gates don't seem to make sounds anymore when they are activated from the other side. Also, you made the flashes so small that they're almost impossible to notice.

Bring back the gate flashes + gate activation sounds.

I find the actual jump effect cool when you do it yourself, but sitting there and watching the gates is very underwhelming Straight

gate camping suddenly requiring you to look at the screen? I guess that would be annoying.

More like you look at the screen and still have no idea what gates hostiles came from until they decloak, because there's no visual or aural indication of gate activations whatsoever.

There is, it just lasts a very long time and it's hard to count.

Also it's only possible to see if your ship is literally sitting in the gate model. And it doesn't make any sound.

There used to be a flash that extended across the whole grid coupled with a loud sound. You still couldn't "count" activations if people piled through a gate more or less simultaneously, but at least you could tell ~*someone*~ was coming through...

To the people responding with stupid remarks regarding "gate camping":
Some times it's nice to be able to see if someone is jumping in when you aren't gate camping. For instance, If someone engages me on a gate and I start fighting him, it's kinda hard to fight that dude plus stare directly at the gate and hope to see some tiny lightning flash to tell if someone is jumping in from that gate.

To the people that respond with "watch local":
Not sure if you're aware of this but some systems have more than one gate in them.

So I agree with the OP

Any decent gate camp should have scout telling them whats coming and how long till it lands on the inbound gate.

Because your too lazy to alt tab/actively watch a gate; while mining, ratting, or playing WoT to gate camp a dead gate based solely on audio cues.....

Nothing you can't do in other ways, but the previous effect was better and more usefull, is not only for gatecamps.
Btw there were also different flash colors for people jumping in or out, I don't see it now, was removed too?

Maybe it was just handy to be able to hear people coming down a pipe from the audio on my scout character while I'm micro-managing a fight a jump or two further down the pipe. Multiboxing was hard enough without having to do it deaf and partially blind.

Also, speaking of dedicated scouts, have you tried sitting at a perch off a gate and trying to tell your buddies on the other side when someone has jumped? Unless you can position the camera perfectly so you can see their little "bubble" animation as they jump, there's no way to tell they've jumped until they vanish from local. With the flashes / sounds you got several seconds more warning. Just sayin.
