Was having a bit of a think regarding low sec and how difficult it is to make isk when being forced to dock up by swarms of pirates. Instead of station spinng. How about let carebears take control of the station and warp it directly to a site. Allowing the site to be completed from docking range. Maybe even use the station guns to clear rats.

New twist on station games!

ONLY, if you CCP puts in a new kind of station that is all one piece and is smaller than the stations we have now, and is built like Star Trek Deep Space Nine, or Star Gate.

Otherwise; no flying stations for you. P

Oh star gates would be an even better idea. Perhaps being able to dock in the star gates themselves. If you warp to a gate and there's a camp, just dock in the gate! Yes!

an industrial supercapital ship that has outpost features would be a better idea, it wouldnt be able to warp, only to jump, so you would have to light a cyno in order to move it to whatever location you want.

the ship has 2 modes, the piloting mode from which you can use it to jump and that stuff, and the "outpost" mode in which you dont pilot it, but it counts as an structure.

while in outpost mode the ship has the most essential features:

-refining (38% refining base)
-manufacture and research (less than POS modules)
-medical facilities
-fitting facilities (in space)
-player hangars (they have limited space)

the ship could be fitted with modules in order to protect it, but doesnt have reinforced mode or shield while in outpost configuration. it has to be defended. it could be repped by logistics but wouldnt be able to be put inside a POS field.

Please try to keep the discussion realistic and sensible. Supercapital outpost? What next? Mana bars on ships?

^ Awesome idea... maybe have a spells bar or small inventory bar to refill the mana bar. Have NPC drop mana bottles in 2 different sizes: Full mana or 25% mana replenished..

Are you asking to be able to rat or mission from the docking range of an outpost?

An outpost, which is effectively indestructible with a reinforced mode?

A Yes was replied.

Should these stations also be able to use gates, or alternately jump directly to other systems?
This might also aid in opening up new regional markets, if done in the correct locations.

Just clarifying how far the idea details extend here.

No, being able to jump a station to another system would be a bit over the top don't you think? But it would have interesting effects on the economy
