Being nice can bring great financial gains and tear inducing moments that a very, very large part of the game would consider hilarious. Riot Girl knows this. You have learned well, RG, you have learned well.

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

Yes, I know. You don't like anyone, you are a very dark and mysterious person. I find that extremely exciting.

While I appreciate the compliment, I can assure you my intentions are honest.

Especially interesting, is the insinuation that those who stay in Hi-Sec and play in the Sandbox they way they prefer to, rather than play the way the PVP RAWR crowd wants them to play (i.e. come to Low Sec with minimal fittings, basic combat skills and a sign that says "Shoot Me PLZ PeeVeePee free killmail") have some sort of emotional issues and/or social problems and/or problems making friends that cause them to stay in Hi-Sec.

I have no friends. I am alone save my lover. Empty of both heart and soul. I do not desire friendship. Just warm blood flowing over my hands from my victims sliced jugular. He lays there, twitching and soiling himself as the light fades from his disgusting doe eyes. My lover looks over to me as she strips him of his wallet and accoutrements. Scratch one more pile of filth she says. We laugh and walk through the darkened corridors of the station. Up ahead male voices echo... I check the edge of my knife, smiling I round the corner....

I am not psychotic.

Hi, I'm a resident of high-sec and also a friend to high sec missioners and miners. Lately I've been meeting a lot of people in high-sec, mainly young men, who seem lonely, depressed and emotionally exhausted. I have to say, it pains me to see my fellow Eve players in such distress and so I always take the time to chat with them and do what I can to comfort them. I've formed some strong and lasting friendships because of these small acts of kindness which literally cost me nothing.

I've been thinking lately though, about all the people who don't have a friend like me they can talk to and rely on. It makes me wonder how difficult it is for people to make friends in high-sec. I understand you can join high-sec corps where you can meet people but I feel those friendships are superficial and lack the emotional connection some people need to really help them get over their problems and help themselves. I think it's also a lot harder for people with anxiety and other social difficulties to form meaningful relationships in this game.

So my question is this; Do you find it difficult to form friendships in game? Would you like a friend you can confide in and form a meaningful friendship with? Would feel more or less comfortable talking to someone in game rather than in real life, face to face?

I understand that many people are very uncomfortable talking about this stuff, particularly the socially awkward types so I'm not really expecting any serious replies to this thread. I would like to say, however, that if this thread appeals to you and you're not comfortable discussing it openly on the forum, feel free to PM me or convo me in game so that we can discuss it in private. I'm always very eager to help those who feel a little lost and need a gentle nudge in the right direction Blink

When being depressed evolves into permanent hatred and rage, they go to nullsec and join an alliance.

Then they are lost forever.

Jeeze, you're a tard. Most of the antisocial types I've met have been in empire. In null, you pretty much have to work together for a common goal (requires socializing) or your endeavor will fail.

It all depends on how you take being betrayed/let down. I take it quite poorly and so I don't bother with making friends in EVE. What?

Roses are red / Violets are blue / I am an Alpha / And so it's you
