I'm thinking really hard about training Advanced Planetology.

~but~

I cannot find anywhere what the actual effects of this skill are. Increasing accuracy of surveys sounds like a good plan, but by how much, and how is the effect represented in the game?

Do you get more production from Extraction Heads because you're able to more accurately place them? What is the numeric bonus associated with this?

Help understanding this concept would be appreciated.

IIRC, those skills determine how accurate the resource map is. So the more they're trained, the more likely it will be that the hotspot you planted your extractor on is really a hotspot and not some random variance 100 km from the actual hotspot.

Is this sig EVE related?

Advanced Planetology just makes your scans more accurate. It does not increase the yield of your ECUs... directly. Without having Planetology and Advanced Planetology trained your scans may be incorrect, resulting in you placing extractor heads in the low output/hr spots. The increase in accuracy is noticeable but not amazing.

Ideally you should train Planetology to IV and Advanced Planetology to III. If you are really planning on doing a lot of PI then train Planetology to V and Advanced Planetology to IV. If you have nothing else worthwhile to train then train Advanced to V P
