Salvage Corpse, Implant Removal.

Ever wonder why we can't salvage these guys corpses for a chance of getting 1 or 2 of their implants? I mean the last corpse I saw flying in space still had its head attached. Implants don't need oxygen. It would make salvaging more... interesting.

But lets keep it simple.

The moment pod "explodes", a killmail is generated and the corpse is floating dead in space. I should be able to target the meatbag, salvage his body until it explodes, and get me a nice shiny implant (a chance of getting 1 or two of whatever he had plugged in).

Note: If I scoop the corpse into my hull, I can no longer salvage it (it would be too much for the game to keep track of, that and reprocessing 10,000 corpses for implants would be a little too gruesome for even the corporations of Eve. That and it would be bad to collect a corpse, warp 1000 lightyears away, eject it than salvage it (again too much for the server to track)).

Call it a new profession, Space Mortician.

Yaay!!!!

This have been suggested several times troughout the years.

And i still vote +1, it would be awesome, and make corpse move than just a pokal in hanger.

Nisroc - Angel of Freedom Nisroc is known as "The Great Eagle".

Not for me. I also want to harvest the corpses of the dead crew to refine them for biomass for certain carbon components of ship computers and nutrition enhancers for my own crew as I have not docked up to restock on those for quite some time.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

And it will continue to be suggested.

There already is a current thread discussing this issue: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=262108&p=1

Completely different thread, and has nothing to do with this.

This is "Salvage a Corpse, get a chance at getting an implant from it".

We should be able to collect corpses and refine them into Soylent Green. The Soylent Green could then be used like a legal booster for some small boost (like +1% to scan res, or +2% to agility or something).

When you biomass a character, the other other 2 characters on the account should find a pile of Soylent green in their hangars.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

OP, i have the same question to you as in this thread.

Also i believe that implants are not injected into capsuleer's body but act as medium/proxy between pilot and his capsule enhancing pilot's skills and are destroyed along with capsule destruction.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

I've never said that your idea is bad, just pointed out problems that will arise should your idea be implemented. So, quoting my own signature is neither an appropriate reply nor answers the question. Your turn.

I stand by your quote :-P

Eitherway I did not draft a policy and/or full fledged concept of how it would work. Everything can be shot up with bullet holes, with "what if" and "in this situation", etc etc.

Still... Salvage a corpse... Get a implant. I like!!!!

Heck it'd even help clean up eve a bit (well there are lots of corpses floating out there)

Yaay!!!!

So you want smart bombing gate to be a money making activity?

Heheh did you know there are people who regularly camp gates (you can guess which) alphaing pods for killmails and to kill people who fly in expensive implants?

And that's in highsec.

That happens now.

And people already smartbomb gates, run insta lock ships, and pipe bomb cooridors.

So yea... Salvage corpse for implants, I like it.

"Once an implant is plugged in, it can only be removed by selecting and destroying it, or by being pod killed. "

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Pod_Death
"All implants installed in a clone are destroyed when your pod is destroyed."

Even if there was mechanics for killing people in stations to take their implants, death outside of a pod is perma-death as you don't get a mind transfer.

Yea, that would go down well.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

Funny, you can walk in station, and your implant still seems to be there...at least it does show on your character sheet when you show it. So it doesn't appear to be linked, or in any way dependent upon, the capsule.

If design were to say, yes, they are linked to your pod, then we should be able to sell pods with the implants in them, as a commodity, right? I can see Jita local fill up with tons of WTA - Capsule w/ +5 Implants x5 (and it actually be a single tritanium).

Seriously, though, I would like to see the ability to salvage biomass for a chance at implants.

Or, better yet....

Salvage biomass for a chance to get implant parts...and be able to build implants from those parts, much like the current rig process. I'd ******* love that.
