Autocannons for example should have those tracer "arcs" like here: linky.

Why would there be tracer arcs in space when there's no gravity?

Becuase when you are moving and the target is moving it would still look like an arc.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

It's the distance that has the greatest effect of reducing the force of gravity on a bullet in space, not the mass, but nice try.

Also, he said "no gravity in space", and he was wrong too.

Eh? Yeah you are 100% correct. But then again like I said, the velocity of said rounds is so great that you are not going to see a noticeable arc over a couple km anyway, gravity or not. But hey, I am nit-picking in a game where a 12M kg cruiser can bump into a 250M kg ore industrial ship at 500ms-1 and accelerate said industrial to 4000ms-1 without losing any velocity.

The curvature of the arc would not be noticeable, I agree. But the point of a tracer round is not to draw pretty arcs, it is to show where your shots are going.

And yeah, in the gravy-space of Eve, actual physics definitely takes a backseat to reality. :)

EDIT: And upon further reflection, tracer rounds are to aid humans manually aiming their firearms. There's no reason for a computer-driven targeting system to need tracer rounds.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

No. Tracer rounds exist to sell subscriptions to intellectually soft gullible teenagers who are attracted to primary colors, dissonant sounds and flashy effects.

CCP also took my suggestion of firing the cruft seriously. Shocked
