Hi

My question is: can these sights be soloed in a battleship (amarrian to be specific) and if so which one? There are 4x sleeper advanced battleships and 4 frigates in a vital sight while 4x advanced battleships with scrams are in instrumental core sights. Also could you please share a fit you would use to solo this in a battleship?

If it can not be done with 1 battleship, could it be done with 2? Like an abaddon and a raven or something?

Thank you!

No. The lowest end advanced sleeper BS does 400 DPS, Sleepless Guardians do over 700 DPS.

Battleships are pretty bad ships to run sleeper sites in general, you need to sig/speed tank sleepers.

The Instrumental you can do with three RR Tengus. The Vital...no way. The 4 BS's and frigs that spawn hit twice as hard as the ones that spawn in the Instrumental.

In a Vital reservoir (but NOT an Instrumental) you can solo the site... with a dreadnought. Load long-range ammo, warp in at 100km, and proceed to blap things; the sleepers in a Vital site won't get under your guns, and you can just re-ship to something capable of killing frigates.

Carriers can realistically solo both classes of site with a bit of work, drone losses may occur.

I *have* seen (via my alliance killboard) a high-end deadspace-fit Tengu that was able to solo Instrumental sites, but would never recommend actually using such a fit. Or you could get a silly expensive fit like this guy has: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff8c39qQE-M

Two spider tanking Domis *might* be able to do it. We use 4 Tengus, minimum, so thats 3 large shield reps.

If you have 2 Domis with 3 RR mods and 3 cap transfer mods you might be able to pull it off, but you'll be better off with 3.

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

You can, they just don't want you to know that, I use a dual-large rep geddon and just tank n spank the sleepers, easy.

I am not sure if I have soloed these particular sites, but I have soloed 4 x elite BS plus frigs/cruisers spawns in C5s in a tengu. This was pre-HM-nerf and relied on keeping just outside the edge of their EW (neuts and points/scrams IIRC) range and pinging them. It may be that nowadays the tengu's heavy missiles no longer accommodate that approach.

I seriously doubt that any battleship would have managed that. My uber-tanked rattlesnake was not able to solo C4 sites whereas the tengu was fine.

Anyways, just another datapoint for your consideration.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Thank you all for the responses.

I guess I will just start training for the Legion (since I am an amarr pilot and I have good laser skills), and for the second character i don't know yet since he specializes in missiles and caldari ships. I know mixing a Tengu and a Legion is not a good idea.

What about a Nightmare + Tengu (or maybe solo Nightmare?)? Could it do these sights? I know I have to be mad to bring that kind of ship (Nightmare) into hostile space, but theoretically is it doable?

You're better off attempting to Sig tank it. I think the problem with the Battleship is that they'll be taking full damage at all times and with 4x neuts hitting you, you are unlikely going to be able to hold the tank. We usually just use a single dread and pop a siege cycle to clear them very quickly.

Sigtank is great. Used to clear them with a navy domi, barely kept alive by two guardians (no links). The smarter choice are two AB'ing RR-tengus. Solo is just not worth it, as the desired dps to clear them in time is 800 up.

I've been told you can do both sites in a sniping naga, but I'm too lazy to try it personally so I can't confirm or deny that it works.

The answer is no.
3 RR Navy Domis
4 RR tengus (3 if it is a cataclysmic).

You can even do some of the anoms with these.
Try to warp out when your scrammed.

i have done it with 2 in a cataclysmic a few times, gets pretty hard though when the battleships start hitting penetrating and wrecking several times in a row.

Just look up the dps and neuting stats.

Without giving exact values, it's something like ~2000dps of tank required, and your fit has to be able to do with around 70 GJ/s of neuting.

So, no it's not realistically feasible to do this outside of some bizarro fit that would probably involve ASB's, MJD's and multiple warp in and outs.

The tank holds with two tengus, until they finally neut one tengu and shoot the other one. Then the card house falls down
