Thank you to these two entities for pushing the market on Exequeror hulls and meta 4 sensor dampeners so high.

Before you kiss and make up, can you give me some advance notice so I can liquidate wartime stock and reinvest that capital in mining barges and Catalysts?

Meta 4 have limited supply (mission drops), catalysts and mining barges have unlimited supply (built by players).

Its not an answer, its a statment. And its defenetly not an answer to OPs question.

This.

And a fair number of the miner euthanization community are alts of characters in the various warring alliances. I'd say we're 35% Goons, 15% Test and 50% not involved in this war.

So once the lovers kiss and make up, there'll be more ganking happening.

You are right, it is my fault you don'have any knowledge in basic Economics. Let me clarify

When you have something with unlimited supply, or more technically perfectly elastic supply, you cannot have a long term increase in price over production costs (includes economic cost). With the barges you can make an infinite amount of them (or close since building slots are so many that they are considered infinite in this particular case). So in the long term they will never be higher than production costs. Meta 4 items on the other hand have a limited supply and with a huge surge in demand we can easily have a higher price equilibrium point.

-1 for not even trying to look up what I said, you are in the MD forum after all, if you can't get basic economics wtf are you doing posting here.

Funny. I haven't said that your statment is wrong, i just said its useless. How about you start with L2READ, and then progress to something as economics? Which isn't as perfect as you imagine.

How is the supply for meta 4 items limited? If hypothetically meta 4 webs were buffed so much that they soared enormously in price, then suddenly mission running would become more lucrative.

Then some of the miners would change to missioning (or other forms of ratting that generated meta 4 webs).

The only limited supply items I can think of are the things (such as Revenant BPCs) that drop from Incursion motherships, as AFAIK a set number of them spawn per week.

You can't just produce meta 4 items at your will, that is how it is limited.

If you judge an items "availability" by how much effort is required to obtain the item, Meta 4 is very limited. You can actually argue that Meta 4 is more limited than Tech II, despite the fact that T2 items require extensive skills and an extensive production chain from raw materials to finished goods, and that's including invention.

Once you have the skills, the BPO, the materials, you can produce T2 items with just a little more effort than the T1 item.
Meta 4 Webber may require hours and hours and countless missions to obtain just one.

You claimed my statment was "useless", all I was doing is using "economics", which clearly the subject revolves around, to prove to you how useful it is. Yes using "L2READ" and "funny" is a much better argument than using proven theories and logic. That surely makes me a troll, for trying to argue things from a scientific perspective and not from an ignorance one.

Yes you can 'produce' meta 4 items by killing rats.

You can't control the ratio of 'good' meta 4 items (sensor dampeners, warp scramblers) to 'bad' ones (energized kinetic plating), but you can produce meta 4 items in general, and some percentage of them will be good ones. Ditto even for the deadspace items, witness their price fluctuation recently with more people running exploration combat sites.

The only things that exist in the entire game that are limited are the items that have a maximum number of possible drop opportunuities per given time. Revenant BPCs come to mind, there's what, 3 to 5 lowsec incursions in a week? So 3-5 opportunities for that BPC to drop and that is all.

coming from a guy who used to rack up over 500mil in loot a day BEFORE the war i can confirm that meta modules are NOT limited any more than minerals are.
