NPC bounties are listed in their individual show infos

so if you click on an NPC the selected item window will have its bounty stated on there.

Hehe lol , can i insure my pod ;) .
If it helps to open the question out any, forget about what i am specifically after about who i should shoot but what do others use to decide? Bigger, smaller, big corp member, small corp member, better chance to beat, situation dependent, ship dependent, winning, Reputation?

personally? stay out of it unless you know one of them.

if you WERE to intercede, try to get the fight as "even" as possible so that when the first pops you can finish off the other.

Or, i guess if you place value on your killboard (i dont) then shoot the one that looks to be worth more isk.

My aim for this post was as in original post intended as a pvp question so was referring to lowsec.

In that case... there are no "good guys." In low-sec there are only "bad" people and "worse" people. Either way you'll get shot.

Here's a helpful real world analogy;

You are sailing out in international waters. You come across a fight between some pirates, mercs/privateers, and rogue opportunists. All parties are "bad" as far the rules are concerned (and even if they aren't, they might be!!!).
Since no one knows which side you belong to (as you are not part of either's fleet), both sides will think you belong to the "other guy" and shoot you on sight.

Understand that in EVE everything is relative. There is no clear cut definition of "good" and "bad" here.

Using myself as an example:

I'm currently a member of the Minmatar Militia... which makes me a privateer of sorts. I "fight for the glory of the Republic" and will engage anyone in the militias of my mortal enemies the Amarr and Caldari. I am a RIVER unto my people!

HOWEVER... I am known to shoot neutrals without provocation. Even unarmed haulers. Why? Because those neutrals may be former Amarr/Caldari militia... or they may be supplying the Amarr and Caldari with supplies... or they may be high-sec tourists looking for a punch up and/or getting intel on me.
Since none of those people are "legal" targets, I lose security standing each time I engage. Now I'm officially an "outlaw."

Am I a bad guy for shooting those people? The "law"/"rules" says I am. To my allies I'm just doing what I have to do.

Though... the few neutrals who may or may not have been actually neutral don't care about that. I'm still a "bad" person. Twisted

still interested in what others use in pvp as a guide as to who to attack...

Since you seem to not have joined a group yet I'm going to assume you are running solo.

Speed is king for the soloist. Find the ships that are known for getting in and out of an engagement quickly and learn what ships they are strong and weak against them. It takes practice and trial and error.

Please note that you WILL be blown up early on. A lot. Treat each engagement as if YOU did something wrong (until proven otherwise) and if you are having trouble, ask the guy who killed you (believe it or not, most hunters are willing to give advice on what you should and should not have done. Just be nice or they'll troll you mercilessly).
