Repeat: Filter out irrelevant infantry chat !

This is a repeat request, but one that I suspect many pilots who would like to be based in "infantry" systems will find relevant.

At present, we can filter out the infantry in the "show memberlist" part of chat only, this does not prevent the actual chat component being inundated with chat that is completely irrelevant to us pilots. I suspect that in busy pilot systems with infantry the opposite is also relevant to the Dustbunnies.

Both sets of players know that the other is there, but there is no value whatsoever gained for either set from being forced to see tons of irrelevant chat being scrolled across our screens. Living in these systems is no better than living in a perpetual Jita, with the only exception being that at least in Jita the scammers are in the same game as us!

Should pilots be forced to abandon systems / bases that they want to populate simply because of the highly irritating chat scrolling?

I suspect that this was not a side effect that the devs intended.

I have tried blocking them as they appear, but to potentially block an entire game's playerbase is a perpetual undertaking. This is a large problem for me, and I would also like to see if it is just as annoying for other players who inhabit these systems?

close/minimize local chat or dont pay attention to it - problem solved.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

Yeah, not exactly a viable solution when you do most of your activities in Low sec, eh? Thanks for the helpful reply though Big smile
