Short summary of the match:

G0dfathers brought a dominant setup of 3x Golem, 3x Bomber, Basilisk and random support.
M.I.F. brought a 3x proteus setup with damps and support.

Commentators were confused.

Explanation:
M.I.F. decided to win the fight by signature and range tanking while killing off enemy support, never touching the tinker setup. Going head first on 3x Golems and 3x Bombers at blaster range, allowing webs and painters on the Proteus would have resulted in bad things for the Proteus.

Lack of target painter effects on the M.I.F. cruisers during the match is an indicator of no TP's being applied by the ships capable of them, e.g. Golems. This means the Golems were likely damped out and using FOF missiles.

My only contribution here is that you should always write out the name Ministry of Inappropriate Footwork, not only because it's an awesome name but also because there happens to be another alliance in ATXI called M.I.F.

CCP Rise's surmising during the fight was actually fairly accurate he just forgot that FoFs exist and so was discounting his own (more or less) actually correct theories.

The truth is that we're only really good at one thing (if you use a fairly loose definition of good): ganking carebears.

We warped in & straight away assessed the level of carebearishness of that particular trio of leg mounting golems and surmised these were not the carebearing golems we were looking for. So we did what any self respecting ganker would do, and backed the f**k away. Didn't want that T2 golem loot anyways.

TL'DR: if you want us to brawl you down, bring hulks pls

Awesome sauce reply.

Commentators seem very surprised when teams see what is fielded and are able to switch tactics to adapt. They also seem to forget it's a tournament which kind of suggests you go for the win not for the spectacle.

Given that points no longer matter from match to match and are now only used to determine individual match winners if one team isn't wiped, I wouldn't be surprised to see a fair bit of this from here on out. It was really smart of the Footwork guys to choose not to play the G0dfather's game and gab an easy win.

I'm confused, is this the alliance "M.I.F." with initials and dots, or Ministry of Inappropriate Footwork? Both are in the tourney.

From testing we knew that if webs, painters, scrams were applied to cruiser hulls the results were cruise missiles from golems caused massive alpha volleys that any logi was going to struggle to keep alive. We also knew that potentially the tinker golem setup was going to be very hard to crack, but the godfathers had no hard tackle, only squishies, so I opted to damp the hell out of the golems and basilisk and kite around picking up points from their small stuffs. Job done :)
