Is it normal to get scammed by The Mittani, Chairman of CSM ???

By the way, CSM are just players who communicate with the devs, not CCP employees bound by a code of ethics. They do have ingame restrictions, like following NDA and not trying to profit off future changes to the game. (For example, if Mittani knew that, say, Scrap Metal was suddenly going to be made to refine into Megacyte , and he bought up a **** ton of Scrap Metal to sell, he would get banned.)

Making a profit off overtrusting people with too much ISK however... that's fair game.

It just occurred to me that this thread only found its way into C+P after several pages, and that this post was on the first page; and, yet, Admiral Thrawn is still here, a dozen pages later, not getting the message. At this point I don't think there is any real point in repeating the same thing over and over to him; either he is a troll, or he simply refuses to believe that the game could be run this way; or, some other explanation beyond my ken exists for which I feel no shame being unable to fathom or even consider. Ever the optimist, I will try one more time to connect with the dear space admiral: no rules were broken in your hypothetical allegation; this thread shall serve no purpose but to provide goons and our friends a reason to post and to "like," each other's posts here on spacebook; and, hopefully, neither you nor anyone else reading this thread will take away any reasonable knowledge from it because as Dear Leader kindly noted we are presently having a newbie recruitment drive on Something Awful and we don't want our poor newbies to go hungry because people suddenly smartened up after years of falling for the same scams.

It does mean something. It means "Council of Stellar Management," and the duties of that democratically elected body include talking to CCP and providing them a player's perspective on issues when asked for feedback, and serving as a liaison between CCP and the player base to ease communication. It also includes maintaining the secrecy of a Non-Disclosure Agreement, which was mentioned by a GM who responded to you. If you are imagining some other duties of the CSM, then that is your fault and not The Mittani's fault or CCP's fault or anyone else's fault but your own. Beyond being nominally a constituent of The Mittani and the other members of the CSM, you have no special relationship with the membership of that panel and you are afforded no particular exemptions or protections against player activity in EVE Online as a consequence of their positions as members of the CSM. That you believe otherwise is, again, entirely your own delusion. No wrong has been committed here, except the specific wrong of [A Player] scamming [Another Player], if we are to even believe that is what has legitimately happened—and to be perfectly honest, that is not a foregone conclusion given how much hate mail is directed at politicians in general, people in leadership positions in EVE Online more specifically, and at Goonswarm and The Mittani in particular. It is entirely possible that you made up this entire episode; but, even if you did not, then the picture you paint is one of things going exactly as they are intended to go: players in EVE Online played the game, and that is all. That is not what I said at all. It means something; it just means what it has been defined to mean, as opposed to whatever meaning you have internally assigned to it. Seeing as how it was CCP that created the CSM, established rules for its conduct and maintains it—and not you, or me, or anyone else in this thread—then I dare say that perhaps we ought to go with their definition of what the CSM is and should be. That definition has been offered you several times in this thread, and you refuse to acknowledge it. Stop that. Reality exists, and shall exist no matter how valiantly you fight against it.

For closure I would like to point out that the exalted chairman of the Council of Stellar Management made this comment on Page 2, prior to this thread's arrival in Crime and Punishment. In this one post we are presented several reasons to disbelieve the story presented us by Admiral Thrawn, a previously unknown entity to the forum posting elite: first, we see a couple of examples cited as blatant discrepancies from The Mittani's manner of typing apparent in the obviously faked logs; second, we see that The Mittani himself blatantly denies the allegation despite the fact that he gains nothing from doing so. Consider friends that The Mittani is probably presumed to be scamming people in EVE Online every second of every day, and that it is literally impossible for a man to do that; so, there simply have to be some scams out there which simply are not conducted by Dear Leader; moreover, there simply have to be some missed opportunities, and completely imagined scenarios that never happen at all.

When there is such a preponderance of evidence against the validity of this specific claim, coupled with a flat and blanket denial by the man himself who would lose nothing but the time spent typing it in admitting to the scam were it true (and whom would probably gain a lot of "likes" here on spacebook for admitting to it even were it not true), I think we can reasonably draw the conclusion that this scam did not occur at all. I also think it is a shining example of just how honest and full of integrity The Mittani really is as an individual—that is to say, very much so—by exercising restraint and not buckling to the peer pressure that is no doubt right now beckoning for him to claim the scam as his own and bask in its glory. I wish that I was half the inebriated attorney this man is. You folks don't realize that The Mittani is a better chairman than any of us deserve.

I would kindly remind you that The Mittani has not been found guilty of scamming and therefore these allegations should not be addressed with such a tone as to express presumption of fact. In fact, we ought to be going out of our way to presume that, in the lack of damning evidence and a ruling to establish guilt, The Mittani is innocent of these charges. It is better to let a hundred guilty men go free than to falsely imprison one innocent man, or mitten.

I don't get your the message, you don't get mine. We live in different worlds therefore we cannot agree on this subject. I don't scam people, not in game, not in real life. That's how I am. I got scammed, my bad for trusting a scumbag. End of story.

I hope some other players benefit by reading this post and won't get scammed, at least not the way I was.

CSM is a bunch of players that have written CSM on their avatar...At least I got that right.
