Hello gentlemen

Recently i've been trying to get better at Eve online pvp by capturing videos of my fights and analysing my mistakes.
I'm trying to get it one step ahead by putting my analysis on a youtube channel to get some feedback.

Check it out here : Clahim Eve

I am far from being a skillfull player and therefore you won't see some incredible pvp fights here but, if you are an experienced pvper you may see some mistakes that i don't and help me improve; and if you are a pilot trying to learn pvp you may learn some stuff about pvp as i do.

Any feedback would be appreciated

I like people who do this because it gives a much better picture than just whining on the forums about how x ship or module is op.

The fight vs incursus in the heron could have gone a lot better, but I can see you noticed all your mistakes already

Dual rep incursus is very limitted. You can beat people who are bad but most will just warp away or kite until your charges run out.

It might work if you put a long point on it and then everytime your enemy gets out of web range try to catch them again. If they don't have enough ammo or the time to stay until you run out of cap boosters you might get the kill that way.

Or either side can rely on back up. But of course if you outnumber them there is no real skill or fitting expertise necessary.

But other than that if someone has the time to wait for your cap boosters and wants to kite you they can just do that. Or they can just leave the engagement. Its heads they win tails its a draw.

When i start to do frig/destroyer pvp ill be recording my fights because its over so quick and ur brain overwhelmed that looking at it after in peace will be helpful.

Ill also run with ship scanner even though it makes me weaker so i can see how people are fitting and using their ships. Once i feel like hitting scanner is just same old fit ive seen before then ill drop the scanner.

Recording is a good idea.

Even after hundreds of fights (I know a guy with over 4000 kills that agrees with this) you still notice a lot of really stupid mistakes when you fraps and rewatch.

I'll go "Why is this guy so slow?" "HOW DOES HE NOT NOTICE HIS CAP IS RUNNING OUT?"

"Ohh my god why am i so bad?"

Sounds like a good idea, hope you find the help you are looking for.

I should really start recording my all my epic fails, would be quite entertaining I think.

Yeah you are defintly right about that. The range of fights a dual rep incursus can win is thin but i saw in it a good way to learn the basic of repping and cap booster.
I might try another incursus fit soon so if you have a good fit that would be great. Maybe a web and railgun?

Try and remember that sometimes the other pilot has forced a 'mistake', and it was nothing that you did at all.

I like long fights, so when the one guy was in armor and the other guy was just landing, I would have been happy.
The worst thing a fleet can do, is string in 1 at a time. You want to take advantage of situations like that and your mental approach should be 'this is just how I want it'

I overheat the whole rack, not individual modules. 1 click fixes all.
I went through a phase once, for about 3 days I burned out my mwd or point in every fight. just bad mental timing.

I think your going to do great. Good self teaching process.

This would help a lot of other people learn also. However, my way to learn?...

I learn more from mistakes than I do victories....so go out and make a **** load of mistakes! :D

Personally, I recorded all my fights whenever I remembered to launch FRAPS. Self-analysis helps a lot and you are more aware of your mistakes in the future.

That being said, putting your videos on Youtube *might* (notice the conditional) not be as helpful as you think. I made the same thing and even though I outright stated in the description that I was new to PVP at the time and everybody was free to leave constructive criticism, all I got were either "lol awesome fight" comments or some people just insulting me for doing something a certain way. Sometimes, a Squid found the video and boasted on how we just blobbed them even though we had equal numbers and whatnot.

I hope your channel turns out better in terms of constructive feedback. I will look at it at some point when i have more time :)

Check my losses for rail and blaster variants. Dual rep is definitely not best. You need to be able to control range so concentrate on your Navigation skills soon.

I went out solo in my alt last night in an executioner built for scram kiting

I found myself avoiding missile ships a lot, I have a feeling missiles in frigate hulls are slightly better than all the other weapon systems :(

Dual rep is a bit hard to keep track of for new players. In general I recomend buffer tanks for beginners so they can focus on overheating their ab to keep propper ranges. But with the incursus active tank is best. Here are some fits.

[Incursus, Fittings.]
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer

1MN Afterburner II
Faint Warp Disruptor I
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I

150mm Railgun II
150mm Railgun II
150mm Prototype Gauss Gun

Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

I like this fit. Speed is important though so you may want to swap out the adaptive nano plate for an overdrive. (or maybe use a rig for speed) Its pretty easy to fly. Keep the lower rack overloaded and pulse the repper as necessary. Keep at range 11.5k. Overload the ab to get to range and then when your over 10k away overload the web to hold the target.

Against missile ships I tend to alternat keep at range and approach so I keep moving to mitigate damage while still keeping my transversal down.

[Incursus, Fittings.]
Internal Force Field Array I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer

Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
1MN Afterburner II
Initiated Harmonic Warp Scrambler I

Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II
Light Neutron Blaster II

Small Trimark Armor Pump I
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Here is the brawler fit I like. You can either keep atrange 1.5ish to help with tracking or orbit 500 if you want to reduce the enemy tracking. Overheat the ab to get in close.

Also I use a hobgoblin 2 drone with both fits.

Modify fits as you like/need for fitting. I think you see the idea. Some use a tech 2 small armor rep instead on the second fit. It might be better, I'm not really sure.

Good luck.
