The problem is that what they did does not accomplish this, because with sentries you can just drop reps on them and completely ignore them again.

What would have solved the problem, which they did not do, is to just remove "aggressive" mode and auto-attack from drones. Auto-attack in any game that has ever had it has always caused the same incurable AFK-farming issues that it caused with drones. The solution is always simple and always the same: remove auto-attack.

What we got instead is just another layer of broken idiotic AI on top of the existing layer of broken idiotic AI. They could revert everything about the "new AI" and just make drones require that you target something and press F1 in order to kill, and all the problems they thought they were solving would actually BE solved, without the idiocy we have now.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?
