If I were filthy rich and about to quit this game, what would I do?

Hire PL to kill those that backstabbed me. Buy a T3 boosting alt, build Gods Coldblood's Vindicater and leeroy into their fleet. or just buy hundreds of trash ship setups and go explode in glorious bouts of PvP combat.

I see your complaint. Eve is a brutal game, and honestly it's brutality is one of the reasons I think I've been playing for so long. I couldn't stand MMO's that would let you die, pat you on your ass, give you a pascifier and tell you to move on.

Or hell, I would find a devoted aspiring young player, and shoot the isk in his direction.

I can understand the agony. I think almost every one of us long-term players have had situations where we were ready to kick our monitor through the wall. I have personaly lost over 20bil in ships. 1.5bil alone this month.

This is why to either play with RL friends and/or family. Then you'll be helping who really does matter to you.

If the trust isn't at the level you can leave a $100,000 bill on the table and it's safe, it's not worth playing (why waste time and effort in a game you PAY for to add misery? Makes zero sense). Coming back to WoW after a couple months away, the warmth of having family there is 10x better than trying to play in a "harsh" space (not harsh, just more asshats) of complete strangers. Spent 10hrs yesterday catching up for 5.4, and sis and I did everything together...that's priceless.

They don't see any fun in ganking, stealing and trolling. EvE wouldn't make them happy. It's not what they're paying to play for (and that in the end is what matters - did you get a value for your money?).

So if you leave, it comes down to what you're getting out of the game that's fun to you. The usual trolls that like misery and be miserable with others will gravitate to games that allows griefing. While the more sane folks find more productive games.

Just consider that you're lucky that you leaving before the antisocial nature of EvE became permanent.

Don't fret it OP, some people just need a acid bath irl. Let's hope Karma is real eh? Twisted

[b][i]Eve is like the way that gun law equals a lot of deaths followed by a lot of people being real nice to each other, well, it would be if we all had our names and address posted on our character info! I wonder just how many players would still act like assholes? Fly safe, and lock your back door tonight

As many of the others have said, I think you should just keep playing. There's plenty to do and plenty of other ways to help people. Start a corp dedicated to getting people started on their careers in eve for example. Give them starting equipment and put in incentives to get them to help other people out. Make a long standing change that will self perpetuate.

I'd certainly be the last one to give you a pep-talk, especially if it involves trying to get you to remain in EVE Online.

Look upon your experience as a blessing in disguise; you're eyes can now be open to things EVE Online kept you blind to.

If there are a such thing as Gods, may they bless you.

Don't ask me to post with my main! You post with your main first!

A person who has to constantly talk trash about people who are different from them is simply displaying their own ego problems.

If you don't like what EVE is or who it attracts, WHY keep coming here. You don't like us, we sure don't like you, you even understand you are happier in WoW. What a twisted individual you must be to subject yourself to an experience that seems to cause you so much misery....

...which makes you EXACTLY like the people you talk about. See the bolded part of your own post.

If you think the only way to help people is by 1.5b/day then you're clearly not doing it right.

Taken from the old saying "Every Rifter counts" - that's hardly 1.5b/day...

You do realize that for example new pilots, getting a 5m donation makes most of them very very happy, and that is not very much compared to 1.5b/day you claim was needed. I'm sure you can find other ways if you like.

This. I still remember the guy who blew up a Thrasher of mine in low sec when I was new, but he gave me 10 million isk because I actually gave him a good fight. Was lucky if the ship I lost was worth 2 million total. Even helping with little things like Chribba says makes people remember. Little things are better than nothing at all. Don't give up just because you cannot just give PLEX out. Help out new players. They really do appreciate it.

Honestly, you could very well be 100% making this all up and trolling.

That said, then for you, and for any similarly situated who are reading, my thought is that you need to make a couple of changes.

First, quit ignoring what you obviously know to be true about Eve, and acting like it will never affect you. That is, frankly, rather delusional. If you cannot accept that about Eve, then it is simply not the game for you. Then its all good, because you just need to go to one of the literally thousands of other games, where you can have fun more as you would like, within the confines of your disabilities.

Second, if you upon reflection determine there is indeed enough pleasure you derive from this game, then simply move your operations, and begin to be more selective in who you help.

There are a great many great people in this game imo. There are a large number of immature, spoiled brats, with no life, whose pleasure comes from ruining the day of people like you describe yourself. And there are a good number of just plain old malicious people.

So, think about that. The more you complain about it, the more enjoyment you unintentionally provide such players as the ones who attacked you.

As the game is, they all have as much right to the game and their version of fun as those whom I see as the great players in the game.

The key to en joying Eve imo is finding your niche for having fun, and working it.

And over time you will have to be able to adapt. Otherwise, you too shall pass.

One niche I might follow myself at some point is privately determining those I see as "bad", and secretly using my own resources and mind to make their life in Eve "less fun".

If you give something away for free for long enough people won't value it.

This happened in one alliance I was briefly in. One guy did the whole IT services for it by himself and from what I could tell it wasn't an easy workload, and all he got in return was whinging and whining and criticism. Why he put up with it I have no idea.

Just checked your info in-game, and took a look at your contract history. No evidence whatsoever of any PLEX exchange. Also, why would a player with such RL health issues make a blind avatar with a scarred face? Insp. Heckard is on the case and the evidence suggests that you sir are full of BS. Case closed.

So I finally realized just how truly cold blooded Eve is. Alot of people will go QQ, I don't exactly care, I just thought I'd share how I finally realized it.

I have poor health in Real Life, tumors on my spine and around it. I have organs starting to fail, I just have little else I can do in RL but..well. Nothing, so I decided to focus on things to help people, I can't do it in RL, but I could in Eve. I ran incursions 18/7, so I could maintain a sizable ISK income, trying to plex people who needed it, on a daily basis, plex my self as needed, keep my ship going so I could stay at running incursions 18/7. I actively decided, to play Eve, to carebear. I decided, that if I was ganked, I'd not fight back, but infact, ask if I could do any thing to make their future game play more pleasurable, if they needed help PLEXING to stay in game. Some people haven't the RL finnances to maintain their game after all.

I got burned by the group I flew with, every one told me I was just being trolled, but how often do you troll some one that isn't involved with running a community, and not state they are welcome back?

Ultimately, I realized, I wasn't actually valued in the Eve Community for what I did. No one -cares- cares about it. Eve is a pretty cold place in the end. Fortunately, with the amount of PLEX I bought for my self, I can snicker that it's pretty likely my account will expire -after- I do. Maybe I shouldn't find this funny, but I do. A MMO account out lives the owner.

So let the troll posts begin against me, but it doesn't really matter, I can no longer sustain my play style in Eve Online. Don't really hate the game as a whole, but it showed me how bitter and cold people are. I guess I should have seen it coming after how often you read about being ****** over in one way or another in this game. It's alot like betting on the Horses; one moment it's fine, the next your wiped out and begging in the soup kitchen. I could probably plex my self for eternity on strip mining, but that doesn't let me do what I really wanted from Eve; to help others in game, as I can no longer do so in Real Life.

Sorry to hear about your condition mate, Just remember it's a game and the internet in general is full of aresholes and tosspots.

I hope you continue playing, but good luck with your RL problem, it's infinitely more important.

I'm against this entire highsec bears suck and low sec and null sec rules and otherway around. It's just the playstyle and what you want to take out back of the game you pay. It's pretty logical to me and makes sense as well.

For example: Some people just don't have the time to be active as it is asked of most low/null sec corps. They decide to stuff where people don't have to rely on their activity so they go kill npc's maybe even get into lore and what not. If they have the fun, why not let them do? It is just a game, that's a fact. But bash on people doing what they do because you like the stuff you do more.

Another thing - and I'm pointing this to you OP - is that piracy, scamming, ganking, awoxing are just playstyles as well. You've done right letting them do the thing they do - you couldn't stop em anyways, but that's another thing.
I detest the spy's all over calmil as well but what can I do? Nothing isn't the answer. Overcome it is.

They booted you from their channels and took away your home? I'm pretty damn sure you've made some friends till now with your chivalry. ASK them to help you to compete with the old incursion community. Turn your back against them and start doing what you've been doing all the time. The 'friends' let you fall? **** it you have enough ISKies probably to hire a goddamn mercenary corp just to get them incursioning them with you and take all the iskies away from them.

Eve is a game, as I see it, where there's no situation of having no problem at all. In fact there's problem everywhere. In every ******* corner, may it be high sec or null sec, low sec or militia warfare, other carebearing activities or simple piracy and scamming. The fun part of the game is to overcome these problem by solutions.

My 2 cents.

TL;DR: Don't give up on the first time jita gate telling you to **** off.
