So I finally realized just how truly cold blooded Eve is. Alot of people will go QQ, I don't exactly care, I just thought I'd share how I finally realized it.

I have poor health in Real Life, tumors on my spine and around it. I have organs starting to fail, I just have little else I can do in RL but..well. Nothing, so I decided to focus on things to help people, I can't do it in RL, but I could in Eve. I ran incursions 18/7, so I could maintain a sizable ISK income, trying to plex people who needed it, on a daily basis, plex my self as needed, keep my ship going so I could stay at running incursions 18/7. I actively decided, to play Eve, to carebear. I decided, that if I was ganked, I'd not fight back, but infact, ask if I could do any thing to make their future game play more pleasurable, if they needed help PLEXING to stay in game. Some people haven't the RL finnances to maintain their game after all.

I got burned by the group I flew with, every one told me I was just being trolled, but how often do you troll some one that isn't involved with running a community, and not state they are welcome back?

Ultimately, I realized, I wasn't actually valued in the Eve Community for what I did. No one -cares- cares about it. Eve is a pretty cold place in the end. Fortunately, with the amount of PLEX I bought for my self, I can snicker that it's pretty likely my account will expire -after- I do. Maybe I shouldn't find this funny, but I do. A MMO account out lives the owner.

So let the troll posts begin against me, but it doesn't really matter, I can no longer sustain my play style in Eve Online. Don't really hate the game as a whole, but it showed me how bitter and cold people are. I guess I should have seen it coming after how often you read about being ****** over in one way or another in this game. It's alot like betting on the Horses; one moment it's fine, the next your wiped out and begging in the soup kitchen. I could probably plex my self for eternity on strip mining, but that doesn't let me do what I really wanted from Eve; to help others in game, as I can no longer do so in Real Life.

Never let anyone sour you on doing good in RL or in Eve. The truth is that some people just suck. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who appreciated what you do/did for them. If doing good for others makes you feel better, do it. How they take it or what others say about it doesn't diminish what you do.

Fly safe and inspire others.

confirming i could use a plex....

but something about trying to help out someone who just ganked your shiny ship seems odd...

also you shouldnt try to help everyone in eve finacially. thats kinda silly as a base idea and would get taken advantage of. now reward free freighter/jf services on the other hand....

Hello ... this is a game.
Maybe you need help understanding what a computer game is.
It's entertainment and has absolutly nothing to do with real life issues. Therefore are some other forums or communities.
And there are a lot.

Wish you the best.

The key here is, if you enjoy helping people and that part makes you feel good, keep doing it no matter what others say. Some will abuse it of course but the key is to ignore them and always know and risk things that you are ok with losing due to abuse.

Some people will not care what a persons RL situation is, some will. Generally it's two separate things so at the same time one cannot expect others to think or feel in some way about it. But the key still is to keep doing what makes you feel happy about and be aware of the downsides to it.

You should join a corp and become their logibro or help manufacturing. An alliance maybe. Perhaps ours, you can always help someone.

To Clarify - I was burned out of where I was, and with out being where I was, I couldn't continue to average the 1.5b a day I was pulling, which I largely pumped out to people to help. :) As I played Eve solely for the enjoyment of helping others, I had to quit. I don't see a point in grinding missions just to make enough to plex my self and cover my own stuff, it isn't enjoyable. So I quit, I'd rather not see others go unhelped because I was unable, and incapable, of doing any thing. My game style is no longer available to me.

I'm not looking for sympathy, I just hope maybe some one else will read this, and take up the same gamestyle. :)

If you think the only way to help people is by 1.5b/day then you're clearly not doing it right.

Taken from the old saying "Every Rifter counts" - that's hardly 1.5b/day...

You do realize that for example new pilots, getting a 5m donation makes most of them very very happy, and that is not very much compared to 1.5b/day you claim was needed. I'm sure you can find other ways if you like.

After reading the OP, I am not sure what happened. How did the group you were running with "burn" or "troll" you?

I'm not saying that it wasn't wrong; I just don't understand what they did.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

If someone takes advantage of your generosity then shame on them. If you allow those people to change who you are and change what you do or would like to do then SHAME ON YOU.

Where would we be historically if good and decent people allowed the actions of the non virtuous to dictate their actions?

I would recommend joing a noob-friendly corp and helping noobs get set-up. Maybe even funding a corp of noobs so they can go out and PVP without having to grind it.

How exactly were you burned out of your area? It sounds to me like you were making too much money for yourself and someone stronger came and took that away from you. Their playstyle is arguably more legitimate than your own, if I have the right idea about what happened.

I was told I could no longer get in fleets with them, I was booted repeatedly from comms, and more then once, told to ..various profanity, off for trying to be a helpful person. Every one says it's a game, but the smallest things, even in a game, can help some one having a bad life . We're all just playing a game, any time you talk to some one, it's a real person. I just wanted to try and make people feel better. :)

And no, I wasn't in low sec, or null. Entirely hi-sec. I couldn't very well maintain my hurt no one attitude and play style, if I was infact, potentionally PVPing, to do so. :)

No pity. Just advice on dealing with people who just don't get that doing good is it's own reward.
