have done in the past and will probably do again. Was partially game burnout, but moreso the decisions and actions of the developer left me in a position where I just refused to support CCP. "Greed is good" etc etc

Unfortunately until Infinity releases there is no better space game to play, and so like the rest I reluctantly came crawling back

Yeah i take them, once was a couple of years long... though i regret not training in that time.

The first break i took was because, my whole EVE life collapsed around me. All of my friends had stopped playing and our corporation fell apart, and subsequently the alliance we created became a shadow of its former self. I tried following my friends to world of tanks, for a while it was fun... then the amount of cheating douchebaggery finally got to me. and i decided to give eve another go.

So yeah, i take them... they are aslong as they need to be to re-ignite my passion for EVE. but a word of advice, play skill training online for a while. cause for me EVE always calls to me at some point.

Eve is usually a winter game for me, my summer activity is almost not existent. Too much RL outside that I don't wanna miss.
But since we are being invaded right now, I somehow need to get my sh*t together and log in more often. Ugh

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

There is no such thing as "off topic" in OoPE Blink

Call me naive, but maybe I am one of the few persons here who still believes that TEST can and will win this war.

But we should try to keep war propaganda out of OoPE, there are other dedicated shiptoast boards for that.

Probably 2 or 3 times a year i take a "break" from eve. As i pay yearly i keep skilling. Its generally when i have a lot of work to do or just dont feel like playing. I set a couple of long skills and play other things, do other things.

Then one day suddenly i will feel "the itch" or i will randomly see an eve add, or somesuch. And the mood will take me again.

Though since i started being an active OOPEer ive not taken a break as you people are just too damn interesting.

I tend to take two, three months off every year/eighteen months or so. In the past it would be a rage quit, usually preceded with a cry of

"F**K this game, I'm off! And will never EVER come back".

Ahh! As if. You can take the player out of Eve, but you can never take Eve out of the player.

Now I have mellowed some and as soon as I start to get a bit bored or jadded with Eve, I just set a long training skill and wonder off and play something else, but leave Eve on my computer and account active. Eventually I wander back

Yeah I still do the skill que online.

I know I will come back. For me personally I go through a couple months where I will play eve all the time and then a month where I stop playing.

I've been going two years this time with no break. I almost quit last month though. Was burn out on carebearing, burnt out on fleet PVP, burn out on doing corp admin-- you name it. So I quit my corp with the intention of letting my subscription expire. (Well, I doubt I'd really quit. I'm too addicted to my daily OOPE). Smile

But then I saw this guy in GD calling on carebears to invade a certain nullsec alliance. So I tried that out, and I'm having a great time. Its a completely different way to play the game. No corp duties, no 'get into fleet' pressure, no isk-grinding-- just hanging out in nullsec, chatting with the locals in Local, and doing little pixel guerilla/partizan ops. Very fun.

I think my sub will be running out soon, and it's been a long time coming. Ever since the wardec system was modified my particular brand of fun has been nullified. I've tried to get into other things but I just don't have the patience or the time anymore and quite frankly there is no reason to pay to change skills that I will never use.

Oh come on, if you don't want to stay for the game, then at least stay for the forums- OoPE would be much less fun without you. What?

I've never (in 5+ years) taken a "break" from EVE.

I have refocused my game time on different characters though. I've spent a couple months concentrating solely on market or mission while barely touching my pvp or miner.

Try making a new character and focusing on something different. Sometimes, just playing a noob character can rekindle the fun.

Every once in a while, when I get exceptionally depressed...

I still don't take a break.

I used to take breaks from EVE, the most recent one was about a month ago. And I suppose it couldn't really be called a break, since every few days, at least once a week, I would log in, check my skills, do a couple market things, and then log off. This was just after I had left CFC, and I was very bored in high-sec for a time... What I often do, though, is drastically change my direction. By that, I mean that I'll be training for, like, mining, but then I'll start feeling like playing the market or something and I will drop whatever skill I'm training and start training a market-related skill. As a result, unless I'm playing "skill queue online," it could take me a bit to get to a specific point sometimes.
