There are no legal implications here. There is no "fighting it." The EULA is the EULA.

You're in CCP's game, you chose to be unoriginal and use a name from an established out-of-game franchise, and CCP said that it's not allowed. That's really all there is to it.

Well maybe we are going to be the 1st of many. There are countless corps and alliances out there with names that are going to be a breach of EULA.

Or go with 'Property of CCP Games'

Cause that's what we all are.

Sucks, but once you accept that the game isn't what you signed up for, it gives you lots of time to do more productive things.

You know what confuses me is the corp "Furious Enterprises." I can only assume that Eve corp name is also the company in real life. If not, I have got to say, appears to be an issue with the EULA!

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

How about "My Current Personal Favorite Not Particularly Relevant Sci Fi Franchise"?

Then if you decide you like some other show or movie more it is still what you wanted.

Maybe even make it even more open by using "My Favorite Thing Corp" then it could even represent your favorite food/car/book/actor/pet!

Not sure whether I should or shouldn't have posted here, im sure in the EULA section 43, page 127, paragraph 97, line 13 there maybe some quote saying I cant ??
I invite you to read EULA's. They are refreshing new experiences.
You might even learn a little.

Think I read it in March 2006 ? Was thoroughly entertaining then.

Are you f-ing serious? Anyone who pretends they wouldn't be pissed that their 6-year old corp got ganked by CCP is just trolling.

It's just a name. Why not change it to Tricia Helfer's Legs. That'd get them coming in. Otherwise, I think 10 years would be historic, or a corp that's been around since day 1. Otherwise, a legend in your own mind.

You are aware of the Wayback Machine?

From the EULA, circa October 2005:
Quote:
You are encouraged to use a pseudonym, but you may not choose a name that violates anyone's trademarks, publicity rights or other rights. Acceptance of a pseudonym by the System does not mean that your chosen pseudonym does not violate anyone's rights. You are responsible for any liability incurred by yourself, CCP or anyone else due to the pseudonym you choose. CCP retains the right to reject any pseudonym it determines, in its sole discretion, is unlawful, indecent, obscene or otherwise violates standards of good taste.

This is pretty standard stuff for any MMO. Be original or risk a name change. Hell, it's better than the banhammer.

Even if this weren't the case at the time, the EULA changes regularly. Every single patch, you're clicking that "Accept" button. Again, October 2005:
Quote:
If an amendment alters a material term of the EULA that is unacceptable to you, you may, as your sole and exclusive remedy, terminate the EULA and close your Accounts by: (a) clicking the “DECLINE” button when you are prompted to review and agree to the amended EULA

Basically, HTFU.

Also, Babyon 5 was way better than SG-1.

It's a trademark name and youre surprised?
6 years isnt historic, it's just the average turn around for CCP's customer support department.

I am not at all "Surprised" just miffed at the 6 year delay.

And also with peeps babbling on about the word "Historic", that word doesn't just mean X amount of years being about, Historic also signifies events, both from modern day to age old days.

SG-1 has on several occasions been part of historic events in Eve itself and is currently part of one!.
