Holo-film condemned by Khanid theologians

The Gallente holo-film "They Saved Karsoth's Brain!", made by Impetus, infamous producer of millions of low-budget holo-films, has been condemned by a group of Khanid theologians.

The premise of the dire production, is that Khanid Navy special forces saved the brain of notorious heretic Dochuta Karsoth, rumoured assassin of the Emperor Doriam II. This brain is then placed in a "cyborg killing machine", set loose on civilian planets in the occupied Minmatar territories, to cause fear in the populace.

The Khanid theologians, belonging to the "Interpreting Scripture through Art" movement, described the film as "blaspheming by its very existence".

Other Khanid kingdom residents expressed opinions including "It's probably the worst holo-film ever made, but there's a lot of competition out there".

A Gallente film critic said "They should ban it for being a waste of holograms, but if they banned holo-films for not being any good, Impetus would fold within a week".

An Impetus spokesperson said "Khanid don't understand art".

Just the facts.

Good riddance.
But, meh, all gallente holo-filth should be condemned, not just one example.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

Is this from the same guy who made the"Tribal midgets attack" series. With that classic one, where they invade a liners cargohold and try to kill everyone?

The premise doesn't sound particularly interesting, I must say. It feels strange, but perhaps... hrm, perhaps the gallente film critic is right on this one.

Well speaking as an industrialist, i can admit i have watched almost any available Holo-reel to near death... so even reels rated poorly will likely end up in my collection...

Not sure where the blasphemy is, unless one considers art to be a religion.

The 'Terror on Outpost Thirteen' trilogy is horrifying on many, many levels. Not least the fact that the director managed to get any work after the first one. I never thought I'd see a film where the villain is implied to tentacle-**** himself to death due to 'unstable reactions'.

I mostly keep that set around as a sadistic way of torturing the unwary.

I can testify that cheesey holoreels are amazing for recovering after getting yourself blown up.

Seeing how I seem to be a bit down on my luck lately, I'll be sure to pick this one up as well.

Easiest way to bump up 'reel sales in the Empires is to get someone up in arms over the content. The free publicity can't be beat.

Good ridance! I've seen the previous holoflick by the same director, "Piranhas conquered Hedion" and found it completely boring. Not even the gore was fun or well done. It wasn't cheesy enough.

I have a thing for Jin-Mei martial arts holos, myself. Shockingly bad, hideous audio dubs, but oh so fun to watch.

One of my faves is 'Enter The Clone'

Actually, the funniest part of this article is that Impetus thinks that it produces art.

I can think of many descriptions for what they make, but 'art' is not one of them.

Thats a giant face palm right there, atleast they could have made some effort to synq lip movements. Now you watch them speak and then the sound comes, or the reverse happends and the sound comes first and then lip movements.

No give me the classic Jove Women From Space, now that is a great movie

Are you kidding? That gives the movie all it's charm! It wouldn't ben 'Enter the Clone' if it didn't have it's weird sound effects.

These Khanid theologians don't have anything better to do than complain about yet another cheap Impetus exploitation vid? I guess they'll really hit the roof when they get a peek at the upcoming "historical comedy" about the Kingdom's founding titled Honey, I Stole the Avatar.

Such feeble attempts at entertainment should not be be condemned as a representation of true Gallente culture. Every civilization is bound to produce some great works of art and some... not so great...

Besides, as shown by the responses to this thread some people do find these works entertaining.

I am confident that any decision made by Khanid Theologians falls with the acceptable parameters of the Imperial Theology Council.

On another note, the destruction of barges becomes more evident if capsuellers have been watching these holoreels while on duty. Obviously, this is not death and destruction by by piracy, but by mental assault.

Admittedly hoewever, "Enter the Clone" can be amusing with a large enough crowd watching and enough alcohol involved.

"I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you - so the wicked and the weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.  And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, so the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all."

Because Khanid filmmakers have never put out poor-quality holo-films, right?
