Question about bans

Hi.

The question is, team A fights team B, and if team A bans ship X, does that mean only team B cannot use the ship, or is it that neither team A nor B can use it? I read the rules but they seem to assume you already know how banning works and wasn't exactly clear about the above point.

Nor a or b can use the ship. One dev explained somewhere in the threads. The ship is banned for the match. And both teams can ban the same ship as it is voted on the same time.

This is not entirely correct. Both teams can ban the same ship but the banning is not done at the same time. The way that banning works is that one team captain gets a pop up prompting them to ban one ship, once they have done that the other team captain gets a pop up prompting him to ban 2 ships with the already banned ship by the other side displayed. Once that captain has banned 2 ships the pop up moves back over to the first captain for the final ban with all three previous bans displayed.

All bans affect both teams, so neither side can bring the ship types that are banned.

Just adding on: teams can always bring their flagship regardless of ban
