[Proposal] Sansha Faction Tank Selection

So the Nightmare, Phantasm, Succubus' low and mid slots layout (heavy mids, few lows) precludes them from mounting effective armor tanks. It is considered silly to armor tank these ships and fitting them almost always sees them with a shield tank (those who don't, provide some funny killmails).

NPC values for these ships also display their primary tank being shield:
Example: Chelm Soran

So to my "point" or "proposal":
Why is it that officer and faction loot of these ships drop armor tanking modules (EANM's, hardeners).
Example: Centum A-Type Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane

This shield tanking notion is reinforced by the recent introduction of the "Immolator" sansha rookie ship; which gets a bonus to active shield tanking (22.5% bonus to Shield Boost amount).

What seems correct: to move Centum/Centii/Centus and Sansha Officer armor tanking modules to shield equivalents (i.e. Chelm's Modified Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane -> Chelm's Modified Adaptive Invulnerability Field).

Thank you for reading; let's keep it civil and on-topic please.

Three Deadspace Shield Type Modules, why not. Well, you could move the Domination-Type to armor modules, this would only cause a minor exodus from Sansha space to Angel space.

As you might not know, its in the lore. Sanshas like to carry around armor modules as luck charms and also aphrodisiac. You can easily tell that from cargo scanning some of them. They don't have the modules fitted, they just like to lob them around.

Conclusion: No. If you want to hunt Deadspace shield modules, go to Gurista or Angel space.

Given the overall preponderance of faction-derived (including deadspace variants) modules for armor versus shields, and given that based on the performance of Sansha items versus Amarr Navy items, I don't see that making them Guristas/Pith clones would be a bad thing.

It's not about hunting deadspace shield modules, it's more about lore and module consistency; there are also 3 armor faction series (serpentis/bloodraider/sansha) versus the two shield (angel/guristas).

Technically there's four factions that produce armor modules. There's no deadspace equivalent for them, but Domination faction armor modules do exist. There's also Caldari Navy and Republic Fleet faction shield stuff and Federation, Imperial, and Khanid Navy and Republic Fleet faction armor modules as well.

There might be a 3:2 armor:shield split for deadspace modules, but it's closer to 8:4 for faction modules.

I completely forgot about such! Thanks for pointing that out; so yeah, this would merely bring the ratio closer to 1 (and bring a littler more diversity to the module sets and regional drops).
