Hello. I am an 'active" (read: not afk) miner. Masochistic as it is, mining in EvE is fun to me. I like to pew pew every now and then, but my rocks really get off when mining. I box 10~ pilots roughly, sometimes more, sometimes less.

I left EvE 2 years ago thinking I'd never come back and a few months back a friend talked me in to playing again and I ended up with a small hydra of baby miners that grew from ventures to exhumers. When I left in 2011 I sold the majority of my pilots and assets and the isk lay dormant on an account. After I came back I used that isk to purchase a few pilots for orca/freighter logistics and to make my highsec machine more efficient. I use the isk I mine to plex my accounts and to invest in to more pilots as needed (read: purchasing a combat pilot for defense roams is not out of the question at all)

My current mining hydra moves about 3-4mil m3 worth of ore a day (when I do mine) I look to do the same for an industry backbone in null. The deeper the better obviously, but I am just looking at options at this point.

wow with that type of mining you would be able to clear like a whole entire belt in the backend system we are at iin 0.0

I'm not sure our system can take two mythological miners at the same time though... what TZ do you usually play in. The other hydra in our system usually plays in the eurozone.

be aware though, null sec mining may be profitable but when hotdroppers come, you might have a few hours of the day cut out for sitting in a station/POS. Even large alliances like TEST have problems dealing with stealth bombers and such.

We tend to have scouts several jumps ahead of our systems but them droppers can usually clear a few jumps in 30 seconds so staying on your toes/staying alert to corp messages/mumble is usually highly recommended.
