I've tried to post the console logs but the forums keep saying I cannot input HTML. I eve mailed you the logs Atropos. I'll keep trying post them in here as well. I'm currently running 10.5.8 OS. I was having no issues up until about 3-5 days ago.

Well.... crap... first they killed my ability to dual box... now I can't even single box...

I've been considering quitting anyway (Busy with work, will move in with GF soon), I'm really not in the mood to re-install eve.

I may do a raffle for someone that "can haz my stuff"

The minimum specifications for running EVE start at OSX 10.6.7, and I don't have access to a machine with an OS that old.

Me too can't get the Launcher to launch. Deleted everything, reinstalled everything, nothing happens. Launcher wants to download update, that works but there is an error message about an IO Error: ErrNo 2 No such file or directory: ' /users/myname/library/application support/eve online/repair_download_cache/tmpwpg9jg_4.datapile' while applying the update.

Eve works great when I open the file inside the App Package, but the launcher suc... err... is a problem for some days now. I even completely reinstalled the macbook from scratch and it did not help.

Any ideas?

I'm running 10.8.4 on a 15" MacBook Pro Retina

I ran the mac repair tool (saw a thread in this forum about it), it patched the client, and I was able to launch by bypassing the launcher and using show package contents to launch the game directly

Hey there,

After the patch this thursday (07/11) the launcher worked excellent... Untill today, I played some and all of a sudden I get these common "mac" freezes. When trying to log back on the launcher dont launch the game! I log in, press play and then it just quits.

Anyone got similar problem, or a solution?

Thanks for the help.

Same here.

Not worked out solution... Error dump says process hang.

UPDATE: noticed wineserver process in activity monitor, forced it to quit, eve launches again.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm running OS X 10.6.8, on a case sensitive volume. I had a work-around that lasted for a long time, creating a case-insensitive sparse bundle image, installing eve into that, and then creating a link to it from the Dock. This last update decided it wants to write to:

/users/username/library/application support/eve online/repair_download_cache/tmp88cbnz_4.datapile

It lowercases everything even though earlier up in the logs it says:

Cache folder: "/Users/paul/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/repair_download_cache"

NOTE: I have replaced arrow characters(> and <) with < and > because I get the error "The input cannot contain HTML". It seems fine when it's "greater than" followed by "less than", but the other way around, it thinks it's a hacking attempt.

EDIT: Downloading the latest version of the game did not fix anything. It still wants to download the launcher update and "patch" my game. I literally CAN NOT play the game. I'm definitely going to ask for some kind of reimbursement here.

I'm running 10.5.8 as well and to date I have paid money to Eve and I have been able to enjoy a lovely game in exchange. Your new launcher update has changed that relationship. I guess from this answer my best option is to suspend payment to Eve until I upgrade my system. What?

Been having similar issues, after the game crashes and I need to re-launch the launcher doesn't appear to do anything when this happens it looks like theres a crashed process called "wineserver". Manually terminating this and relaunching seems to do the trick, but its very annoying. I've ran a repair, cleared caches but the problem still exists.

The new launcher also seems to of broke the ability to multi-box on OS X, when launching the second instance it always use the settings from the first instance of EVE - rather than giving you 2 separate instances.

For guys who are failing updates on case-sensitive filesystems:

I have a post about this issue: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=261129

As GM Karidor has stated, they are not going to support case-sensitive filesystems. Installing EVE on a case-insensitive volume is no longer a workaround as the latest launcher updater tries to access the home directory (with no luck).

Supporting case-sensitive paths is one thing that a developer should always take for granted, there's no reason failing to supporting such essential stuff. It's such a shame that the people who wrote the Python scripts does not care about UNIX systems, which are usually shipped with case-sensitive filesystems. If it was a joke, it would indeed be a very funny one.

Similar problem for me,
when I try to run eve from launcher I can see the game window but completely black, without char selection.
I tried to reinstall the game, and delete the "com.transgaming.EVEOnline" and "com.ccpgames.eveonline.savedState" from library but nothing to do.
Everything worked until this morning, then it was freezed and no longer worked.

yeah, it's been over a week since I've been able to play and I get the whole "oh, things are **** on mac for a while after a new patch comes out" but seriously if you're going to offer the game for an operating system then at least respect the players that are paying to use it on that system... I've subscribed for years and my total downtime since starting is up to months all together at this point, right now I think I actually expect to get something back for this time around, especially since there's still no fix, no answers and nobody even paying attention to this problem.

Same issue, since the last patch I can't run Eve on my Mac., get the vague error dialog on startup.

OSX 10.8.4

Console entries:
launcher: EVE Online Error
com.apple.launchd.peruser.501: ([0x0-0x3d03d].com.ccpgames.eveonline[1416]) Exited with code: 255

Any news on this CCP?
