You damn Canadians must have more sleepers around the world than KGB and CIA did in their heyday, because I see people gesticulating madly just about everywhere I go. Smile

It is nothing more than lazy speak (lazy as in people literally saying "lol" instead of actually laughing) and people accustomed to using it are horrible to talk to over the phone .. it (or rather the people using it) is generally looked down upon which is why it is one of the first things people who get in power work on eliminating.

It's mostly conservative US American culture that doesn't get this.
