The Stream

I am not the only one and I know it, for whatever reason the stream for AT is extremely volatile.

One minute it is fine at 1080p, then it won't even run at 240p without serious micro stutter and audio cut off.

I am running a 30mbit internet connection which is about average for the UK user not on fibre, I am also running an i5 system with a 7870XT. So this has absolutely nothing to do with either of these, you know why? I can watch any other lives stream @1080p easily.

This service is utterly horrible, it really is. Anyone who says "runs fine for me at 1080p" then good for you, that does not help me and the others in this situation.

It is as if CCP is streaming at a stupidly high bitrate.

To add insult, the time when the feed is not stuttery and jumpy, we have to listen to these commentators that seem to make even the most basic mistakes and can't tell the difference between afterburners and mwd's. Luckily there is a mute button so that problems solves itself.

Next year, something needs to change, if you plan to do eSports seriously like other mmo's...you need to get your **** together.

I would be interested in what the bitrate actually is for the stream and the transcodes.

I am not very technical with that stuff, however I know the higher the bitrate the more strain it is going to put on the viewer, it also increases the quality to the more closely labeled resolution, so it takes longer to encode?

Regardless, the stream is pretty disappointing and there is a good reason why only 10k people are watching it.
