Oh boy! CCP used my idea!

Now, maybe somebody else also mentioned this, but a while ago I made a suggestion thread for visually showing missed shots. In the most recent dev video, they talked about how they are implementing this in the winter expansion. Man i'm excited, but notice to the devs, I hope you go with different animations for each weapon. Autocannons for example should have those tracer "arcs" like here: linky.

Anyways, i'm sure that chances are somebody else could have posted that suggestion as well, and devs could have read either thread, but either way I am SO happy that CCP is actually reading our suggestions and implementing them. This is going to be one hell of an expansion.

I dont think you are the first one, people been screaming about this for as long as I remember. Last time they mentioned anyone's idea from the forums for the basis for thier changes was one of the first assault frigates fixes.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

But your signature refers to fixing of shadows, which ALSO isn't on tranquility!

Why would there be tracer arcs in space when there's no gravity?

Despite what Hollywood studios, music and book publishers would like you to believe, creativity and ideas are not rare at all. In fact everyone has them all the time. This thread, and all the people posting that this is an old idea - is proof of this concept. So congratulations for being "creative". Go celebrate by buying yourself an iPhone.

I don't think he meant the ballistic trajectory, but the gun just spraying in a wide angle around its target.

Come to think of it, even a hit should have as an animation a burst of fire strafing the target, with around half the projectiles not hitting at all, depending on how far into falloff territory you're shooting.

No gravity in space?

Is there a tether that holds the moon in orbit or something?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

No, but then F = GM1M2/d^2. M1 is the mass of said moon, and M2 is the mass of the ordnance. Considering that the mass of a bullet is very, very small compared to say, a planetoid, don't think you're going to see a noticeable arc while it's in your field of view. Especially since most of these things are going to be fired way above escape velocity anyway.

Your calculation holds no value in the Universe of EVE physics.

It's the distance that has the greatest effect of reducing the force of gravity on a bullet in space, not the mass, but nice try.

Also, he said "no gravity in space", and he was wrong too.

Eh? Yeah you are 100% correct. But then again like I said, the velocity of said rounds is so great that you are not going to see a noticeable arc over a couple km anyway, gravity or not. But hey, I am nit-picking in a game where a 12M kg cruiser can bump into a 250M kg ore industrial ship at 500ms-1 and accelerate said industrial to 4000ms-1 without losing any velocity.
