Clarification on Statics

kind of confused here.

So say we are in a class 2 WH with a Hi sec static and a class 4 static.

Since the name of the static from hi sec is K162, that means it opens from our end. So, if we choose not to scan out the hi sec static WH does that mean one wont be opened up into our WH from hi sec until we (or someone else from say the class 4) scans it and warps to it?

This is what i gathered from what i read but just would like to clear it up.

thanks for any help.

If no one initiates warp to a static then the K162 end does not appear and the lifetime timer does not start.

Uh, you've got it backwards.

If you have a K162 in your system, that's a wormhole that somebody else opened from someplace else into your system. Your static hisec exit will appear on your side as a B274, and on the *other* side as a K162.

The "other" side of your hisec will not appear until someone has warped to the B274.

Read again mate, maybe badly worded but he is asking whether if nobody initiated warp to the B274, would the K162 side open up in high sec. And the answer is no it wouldn't.

K162 = Incoming wormhole
All other types = Outgoing wormholes including statics and wondering.

If warp isn't initiated to a Static or Wondering wormhole, the K162 side will not open. Once warp is initiated the wormhole, it connects to another system aka the K162 side opens up and the timer starts.

what you are asking is:
even though i know that this high sec should not spawn unless I warp to it, why is it regularly still spawned?

because everyone and their mothers are looking for connections to k-space. c2s are the promised land of finding empire.
you are NEVER alone in a c2 for long.
someone else spawned the hs for you mate.
