I know there are some Micro Jump Drive fits out there for newer pilots based on getting range so you don't have to tank much. I will try to find one and post it.

I sure wouldn't try tanking some level 4 missions solo if you don't even have the skills for a part T2 tank.

Have you looked into joining a mission running corp so you can run in fleets?

Here you go... You could substitute the T2 modules for T1. I really recommend that you stick to level 3's or run level 4's in a fleet though. Since you don't even have T2 drones and I'm guessing you don't have Drone interfacing even to 4 if you get scrammed you're toast.

I'm in a corp I was in a drake on L4s on some fleet it was just 1 BS + my drake and I did alright could take the heat.
example > world collide
on second room (not sansha side the other one) I was alone for 2-3 minutes flying around handling a group of mobs while the battaleship player warped out to recharge shields no problem at all.

I was thinking more about tanking some damage and warp out if i get too much heat.

to use T2 tank mods I need 1 more skill rank but I want to finish my weapon upgrades rank 4 first.

I'm asking on this cause my corp mate told me he flew a BS as ssoon as he could and did l4s, he said he flew away from the mobs illing those chasing him while he aligned to a station insta warpin out in moments of "crap".

as I'm afk winning L1 to 3 I wanted to jump to 4s for bit more fun and challenge.

u ninja'd me with the fit.
I got drones interfacing 3 and lots of other drones skills on 3. Drones is on rank 5.

I know lots of people that fly ships before they have proper skills. I don't do it or recommend it but it's your ISK.

If you're in a fleet, use correct hardeners, keep aligned, watch out for war scramming frigates etc you probably will be okay. I wouldn't recommend solo because if you do get scrammed and full room aggro the combination of less than idea navigation skills slowing your align and T1 tank your 5 T1 drones might not kill the frigate in time.

I normally don't recommend insuring mission ships but in your case I would just in case. With the new AI aggro can change rapidly and if you make a mistake things can go bad fast.

Just FYI a non MJD fit I threw together. It's more tanky than DPS so it's not going to get many positive reviews though lol

T1 missiles are fine but I wouldn't solo without T2 light drones and T2 tank. You should be okay in a fleet with at least one other though since you will have a corp mate to help you.

The MJD will get you out if you're warp distrupted but not warp scrambled.

I started level 4s in a raven with ~700k in missiles and 512k of that in missile bombardment, and t1 hardeners. but I did have t2 drones! I'd suggest going for t2 hardeners and then drones first things.

it mostly worked. if you can pay attention to the survival guides and whatnot you should be fine. plus a mjd is nearly a get out of jail free card. jump 100km away from scramblers and warp the hell off if you need to. Raven gets an extra mid slot now, plus the cruise missile buff (although I got to use torps when I started, as they went at least 90km and that was with my bad skills, although they didn't get the dps buff till they reduced the range, and I think they nerfed explosion radius/velocity too).

I just started L4's myself in a Raven and use the following.....but I have some maxed support skills as well.

High, 6x Arbalest cruise missile launcher 1, 1x small tractor beam 1.

Mid, 1x Limited Kinetic Deflection shield 1, 2x Adaptive Invulnerability shield 2, 1x Sensor Booster 1, 1x XL Shield Booster 1, 1x MJD

Low, 4x Ballistic Control System 1, 1x Type D Attenuation signal Augmentation.

Rigs, 3x Large Warhead Rigor Catalyst 1.

Drones, I just use all the ones I salvage or loot from wrecks

Ammo, I check EVE survival for the type needed. But have to admit to mainly using Scourge.

My fit is nowhere near the best, but I do L4's fairly easily with it..I use a range script as well.

Solecist Project...." They refuse to play by the rules and laws of the game and use it as excuse ..." " They don't care about how you play as long as they get to play how they want."

they moved a bunch of missions from all spawns present to triggered spawns, imo that made most missions much easier., back then drone aggro ment your drones would aggro the whole room and try to get you killed, now for the most part it just means recall your drones every now and then. Okay the medium drone nerf made missions a teeny bit harder, everyone just used to use hammerhead IIs for everything, now I can't remember the last time I used a medium drone.

the only AI change that I can remember is that every now and then elite frigs will try to shoot your drones (assuming we are working with light drones), that makes a rather small change in difficulty in most missions. if anything it makes a few gurista missions more challenging as you might have to recall a few drones and then get jammed and not be able to target that elite frig for a while. IMO the whole AI change for NPCs was a waste of code, as the majority of pirate NPC content seems to be run solo. I might take that back because the guys that come back and complain about their afk heavy drone domis are funny.

overall I'd say missions are very close to the easiest they have ever been.

Yes, easy, dont get crazy with the aggo, use eve survival, use the right missiles for the mission and you will be fine. Dont even need meta 4s. You wont be uber, you wont be fast, but you'll get it done.

Edit: I can't point out enough how helpful eve-survival can be when just getting started helps things from getting out of hand. Now a days I dont really need it, but back then it was a lifesaver.

Probably a good rule of thumb is that while you can start off using sub-T2 primary weapons, if you're flying a battleship in missions, you want your defenses to be T2 (if not better), the logic being that a sturdier battleship that's slower to clear a mission is more cost-effective than a wreck that used to be a mission-runner. Over-tank to start, until you're comfortable with the ship and the combat style, and then as you get a feel for how much reserve defenses you have, reduce your tank to make room for improved weapon performance.

In short: T1 weapons are OK, T1 drones (which are generally more defensive than offensive) are iffy, and T1 shield (or armor) modules are risky.
