If CCP banned all the bittervets...

Population would stay the same. Bittervets leave and stop posting. CCP saves big money on bandwidth since only bitterverts post on the forums. CCP uses the savings to reduce sub price thus attracting new players to the game.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Why bother banning them?

If all the vet threats and whining were truthful, all CCP has to do is make suicide ganking illegal and they'll all leave, slamming doors and omfgCCPihateyouragequitting.

The reality is that this game, like all other MMOs, would go under if all the oldies are forced out. The vets are any MMO company's "cash cow," and their subscriptions fuel the development of further features and new projects.

If the OP meant "banned all the bittervets" in a more humorous way, by entertaining the idea of what would happen if CCP banned the "griefer" types to turn this game into a more gentle experience so as to attract more casual players...Well...The motivations of a yacht and a summer home in the Hamptons is strong indeed, but this game will never become WoW, and will never have WoW's millions of subs. One can get better NPC stomping from a Korean grindfest MMO, than from what EVE has to offer.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

They never quit. They just sh1t on the forums while training skills and claiming they are unsubbed.

Some even stop paying with credit cards and switch over PLEX to "shove it to the man". They really don't take kindly to people informing them this route gives them more income.

Pretty sure based on my KB that I've suicide ganked precisely 5 times, at the beginning of Goonswarm Shrugged for the lolz. I could give 2 craps about insurance, and I am in no need of CCP hand holding for my isk. Hisec sucks and I don't like staying there.

Doesn't mean I should think horrible ideas are good.

I'd say post with your main, but I have a horrible feeling that your uneducated ass is.

The term "Bittervet" is misleading.

It's not that you grow irrationally grumpy as you get older, it's just that over time your optimism slowly gets pounded into the ground, and eventually you've taken a boot to the **** so many times that you start to get a little cynical.

If you think somebody is a "Bittervet", you haven't been around long enough.
