The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP: For example, dev blogs and important forum posts by CCP developers, the ever evolving background story and upcoming events. • Sleeve Tattoos for Collectors Edition Pre-Purchasers - Forum discussion
The EVE: The Second Decade Collector’s Edition condenses the first decade of EVE Online's history into numerous physical and virtual items which allows everyone to recall the most intense and greatest moments in EVE Online. The Collector's Edition will be launched in October 2013, but pre-purchasing the Edition will grant you, amongst other things, one out of four available permanent ‘sleeve’ tattoos for your EVE Online character. The available tattoos are Drone, Wreckage, Prototype, and Nature. Check it out!


• Rebalancing and Renaming Industrials - Forum discussion
After constructive and good player feedback and discussions, CCP Rise presents the rebalancing of Tech 1 industrial ships. The current Gallente Iteron II to IV and the Hoarder will receive cargo bays which can be loaded with certain items only. The remaining racial industrial ships will be also revamped.
* Sigil (sturdiest), Bestower (potentially biggest cargo hold)
* Badger (cargo and missile launcher), Tayra (was Badger MkII, biggest base cargo and missile launcher)
* Wreathe (fastest), Mammoth (best cruise speed)
* Nereus (was Iteron, solid average and drones), Iteron Mark V (solid average)

The following Tech 1 industrial ships will have a very small regular cargo bay but a large specialized cargo bay that can only hold certain items.
* Kryos (was Iteron Mark II): bay for minerals
* Epithal (was Iteron Mark III): bay for planetary commodities
* Miasmos (was Iteron Mark IV): bay for asteroid ore, ice ore and gas
* Hoarder: bay for ammunition, cap charges, bombs, nanite paste, and everything else from the 'charge' group

Competing in the Alliance Tournament XI: A short guide

The most popular annual Alliance Tournament start this weekend, July 20th and 21st, and continues the following two weekends with the finals on August 4th. CCP Gargant wrote a nice short guide to explain the procedures for competing AT teams. [Odyssey 1.1] Heavy Assault Cruisers

CCP Rise introduces ideas to rebalance the heavy assault cruisers (HAC) EVE Odyssey 1.1. Goals of this rebalance include an increase in viability for the least used HACs (Eagle, Cerberus and Sacrilege), support than rather disrupt current uses and, if possible, make new uses possible.

The biggest change will be a new role bonus for HACs: a 50% reduction in Signature Penalty from Microwarp Drives.

[Odyssey 1.1] Medium Rail, Beam and Artillery rebalance

Together with the previous mentioned rebalance of heavy assault cruisers, CCP Rise introduces suggestions for the rebalance of medium large long range weapons. The biggest change is a slight reduction in tracking speed mixed with a considerable increase in rate of fire and/or damage.

Medium Rails: +15% Rate of Fire, +15% Damage Multiplier, -15% Tracking Speed
Medium Beams: +25% Damage Multiplier, -10% Tracking Speed
Medium Artillery: +10% Rate of Fire, -5% Tracking

Mostly things on forums, since you have to subscribe to things to active follow them through forum notifications. I dont have time to follow the EVE blogosphere, forums, tweetfleet and game in between. Realizing that those things are cramped in the "EVE time" already and competing with my also cramped RSS reader. Dont even consider things like a RL.

As a new player / miner, I am extremely happy I have ship progression after my Venture.

Please can we get the 'This week in EVE' series in an RSS feed (without comments). Currently there is only a topic feed and you post a new topic every week.
