You can keep trying to reason around this, but CCP got spammed with dozens/hundreds/thousands of petitions and decided to ban the guy they viewed as being responsible. It might not be fair, but CCP don't care about fair, they (presumably) care about keeping their petition system free of 'spam'.

Not directly his fault, sure, but again - act like lemmings and don't be surprised when you get kicked over a cliff?

I heard he sent the petition in an extraordinary amount of times -- is this incorrect? Did he send it in once and someone else sent it in afterwards?

Because if they banned him just because he started up a petition chain... That's screwed up.

hahahahaha CCP ban players due to information they find on the something awful forums and not related to in game.

You are literally the most worse pretend MMO company I have ever witnessed. For a company with promises of change I sure as hell don't see any, oh except for creating 'dec shields' and protecting High Sec from recruitment scams.

But of course winter is coming and you have all these 'please don't unsub' changes.

Remember when they said they was going to buff AF's and turn Motherships into just cheap T2 Carriers. Yea me too they ditched the AF and added yet another Super cap insta grape ship to the game.

The problem is that it's not a perceived policy — it's an actual policy, and if they want to change those, they need to actually change the policy, not just let it be randomly contradicted.

This is not “making a call” — this is creating contradictory rules, and those are very very bad for everyone.
Also, this policy-divergent creation does not protect new players.
