Mods, please gas thread and ban OP. Thank you.

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

Coming from you, that's a real zinger.

In Low Security space, having to watch capital ships (!!!) getting through gates unharmed is plain broken.
Not only is the player using the MWD mechanic to get into warp faster, but he couples it with a cloak, and thus won't be caught really.

If it's all about "clever use of mechanics", then why in heaven's name aren't people who set-up a camp allowed to drop drones, cans or whatnot. And don't start with "LAG", that's just absurd!

While 0.0 relies on bubbles to catch people when a camp is set-up, low-sec players must resort to much more ingenuous and clever tactics and set-ups in order to catch almost all of their prey. They get a negative security status, HAVE TO spend on additional toons in order to resupply due to not being able to go hisec, and they rely on catching their prey in order to make a living (pillage ships or ransom).

For the most part there is no more Risk vs. Reward. Full rack of stabs, cloak + MWD, you do the math.

There are a lot of double standards here, on which game mechanics are allowed to be used outside of the primary intended use, and play with them like in a sand-box, and which aren't because, oh-noes, you could kill players, god forbid.

Dropping items, cans, drones, whatnot... all will earn you a warning from CCP, with a following ban if ignored.
The "fast decloaking ship" is such a cute idea, if it weren't for the fact that it can't tackle and only decloak.
That would work very fine if it could takle as well, as its high scan rez would allow it to instantly get that ship. For the 0.0 F1 pro-players that might work. But in the land of gateguns, there needs to be a secondary ship doing the tackle, after the target got decloaked.
There is so much lost time involved, and with the additional stabs fitted, that you might get 1/50 ships that do it, only to see it warp, and get 1/150 ships because he forgot the additional stabs.

Again, there is no risk vs. reward here for these people, and there is a completely penalty to people who try to come up with ideas to counter those mechanics.

Yeah ... I was under the impression that it was called insta-warping. But then, that was back in the days.

Shhh you oldie!

(But I'm with you two on that one... frag-warping heh silly)

This is the worst thread today so far.
I too would fit ancillary current router rigs on an orca to get the MWD working...

If they get away, use a locator agent to find them, then lock them up and kill them.

Smartbomb camp, RSB'd HIC in combo with a decloaker, bouncing drones from a 17km orbit...I'm sure there are more options I'm missing.

But I mean, why should you have to put :effort: into catching something that doesn't want to be caught?

Next you should complain about covops cloaks being unfair, and how warp-to-zero should be removed. Actually, that last part would be pretty fun to see again...

Just to reiterate in case you didn't 'get it': Here we have a ship built for a sole purpose (running a gatecamp) and you somehow see it as ridiculous that you should build a setup for the sole purpose of catching said ship? Time to lose the silver spoon out of your mouth.

Your thoughts on this please people...

Agree, frag warping is something in the game that cannot be stopped, at least give us a method by which we can counter this 'exploit' it is so so annoying and very gay.

L2EvE and bump the sucker before he warps. any competent interceptor pilot can do it.

Butthurt lowsec pirate? I wouldn't be affected otherwise, would I? Now, while I don't tell you how to run your carebear isk scheme or your nullsec sanctum runnings for isk and F1 extravaganzas for PVP, I would expect the same.
Pepole are bringing up a valid point of concern, and all you can add is "more tears"? Dude, I collect so many tears in a day's worth of playing, I think i'd know if I was crying or trying to have a dialectic going on, which is clearly too much to ask of you lot.

(2)
Yes there is many things that can be done, and I am aware of most of them, while surely not all of them. Here's the kicker though : Most of the time when implementing one of those measures, get reprimanded by CCP.

(2.1)
Your HIC on a gate is worth dipshit with the resebo nerf. It is an incredibly cost uneffective ship on a gate.
The whole RSB hic + decloaker reminds me so much of 0.0 ...

(2.2)
Smartbombing camps .... I think I know those. You would need past 20 Smartbombing ships, all hitting, to to maybe kill a BC hull.
Not talking about anything bigger because I think I didn't complain about frigates.
Ships that can fit covops can fit covops. they're designed to do so. GREAT. more power to them. They have their own innate drawbacks (modules not being on while cloaked, thus being MUCH more prone to being smartbombed).
But giving a capital ship a get-out-of-jail freecard with no risk for the reward, is broken.

(3)
I put in the :effort: to camp or hunt my targets. Hell, I don't think many people do have pinned that down as we do. It's our bread n butter.

To give a little TL;DR for all the dyslexic people :
I am complaining about double standards. If exploiting functions / mechanics readily available in game in order to get away unharmed, then everybody should be able to do so. And then I will spread drones on gates, and cans, and other little things that used to be done (which by the way is a TEDIOUS task, to be done properly).
The problem is that only one side of the spectrum is allowed their "sandbox" of "using the tools handed to us in whichever way we see best".

Getting tiered of trolls... the term had been coined and used before 2008 already.
It's not the OPs fault you started eve late or have been moving between your mission agent and the mission site too much.

It's unbalanced in lowsec. Someone tell me why not in an orderly dialectic fashion and this could be an interesting thread.
But most topics on these forums go lost since the average poster didn't finish highschool.

Another refill of tears and whine

1. CCP broke the ability to perform the mwd-cloak-instawarp a couple of years ago. They specifially made a point of fixing it back so it was possible to do again.

2. Littering the grid around gates lags out other players when loading grid. Oh, and did you even try the decloaking/bumping interceptor? Perhaps too much effort?

3. Ask yourself; do you want the CHANCE to catch someone relying on insta-warp to get around lowsec, or rather have no traffic through at all?

…and apparently died since I didn't hear of it in 2008.

And seeing as how CCP actively wrote this particular functionality back into the game after having accidentally patched it out, calling it an exploit is… let's just call it “poorly informed”.

"It's unbalanced in lowsec". It is not just lowsec where it happens. It will happen in High Sec Wardec's and even in Nullsec and WH's.

High sec has it rougher since they cannot Smartbomb camp like lowsec/nullsec and have to rely on fast tackle and sebo'd ships.

The mechanic is a "Blockade Running" feature that people without cloaky cargo haulers can preform and is in place since there is way too many ways to catch people on gates. If it was not in the game you would see much more unbalanced camps insta locking/poping anything getting in with just a few clicks.

Cloak + MWD is a feature that evens the sides.

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

The name Frag Warping is in general use, that's why I named it that. The name I use for it is unsuitable for a public forum.

I'm aware of all the methods mentioned by the forum warriors above. Sometimes you just don't have the numbers to cover every base though and having 10+ toons in smartbombing ships or wasting a toon in a decloaking Inty is a luxury you cannot afford. I've never enjoyed being part of large corps or alliances in the 10 years I've played this game, so going down that route isn't for me.

Most of the ships you see traveling in lowsec these days have the ability to cloak while warping. If used correctly, they are almost invulnerable. I just don't see the need to allow non covert ships the ability to avoid capture using a cloak and MWD. Jump Freighters and Transport ships have removed all risk from shipping to lowsec. Although there will always be someone stupid enough to get caught in these ships, it is very rare.

LOL, This.

I've decloaked a prowler with a hurricane before it warped. If you can't decloak something as big as a damned ORCA in the 10 seconds it takes to warp, you should give up gate camping.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.
