Rookies in EVE Guide 20 don't make this mistake with rigs

As new player I keep repeating the same mistakes and watching these videos, thinking they are going to give me some helpful advice in some way. I have already figured out more than OP tells me buy doing what you guys have suggested - EFT, showing info and using the calculator. That in-game calculator is an inspired decision by CCP, nice bit of work guys.

As for your issue in this post OP, would you like some cheese with that whine?

The power to cause pain is the only power that matters, the power to kill and destroy, because if you can't kill then you are always subject to those who can, and nothing and no one will ever save you.

This just in, EVE is hard.

Also OP, the box that popped up with the warning, The only way to remove this rig is by destroying it. didn't make you think twice about what you were doing and make you a bit more curious about those mysterious rig things?

You claim to want to help people learn things about the game but yet it sounds like your unwilling to learn about the game yourself...

The destroying it wasn't the problem. A lot of people got this, but you might of overlooked it. The problem was within the calibration. It's one of (if not the only) thing in the game that you can't skill up in. What really made me mad was CCP wasn't paying attention to it's players. I've listed this problem so they can add 1 more to the list of people that wants this to change.
Like below on this. (I even linked some older post from 2006 and 9 of people asking about this. There is even people on that post that agrees with me.)

The entire reason why I posted here was to let newer players see my mistake and learn from it.

BTW, this is the last post I am making in this thread. I don't mind the trolls (in fact they keep bumping up this every time they post something on here), but I can already see them coming out.

O and for those of you who says I know more than the OP. And? At least I am brave enough to show and admit my mistakes. While I haven't seen any other guide showing you their mistakes they made so you can learn from them.

Hell is around every turn. It's your choice to go in it or not. Please check out the Rookies in EVE video playlist. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLioOFeHwQV5yNk2vpz8wX9hihLVQEIKLt

Okay, props to you for trying to warn others, that's not a bad thing.

Whining about a mistake you made and then trying to blame it on the game, saying it is something the developers need to fix, is. The bits where I can actually understand you in the video, and I believe I have seen MANY posts advising you in previous threads to clear that up if you want people to watch them, all you are doing is whinging that it's CCPs fault that you fitted a rig that you did not research first. I had tried to watch some of your videos earlier on when I was a lot newer, and I tended to quit halfway through because of the sound quality and no script, which is sad, they could have been really great.

The point people are trying to make is it's your fault every time you do/buy anything in this game without researching it first, don't try to blame the game. Why do we have to be able to skill up for calibration? The fact that you can't do this doesn't mean the game is broken. It's just how the game is.

That rigs break when you remove them only made me do A LOT more research before I started fitting them to ships, not less.

Edit - to correct that last statement, I have a Retriever with a couple of amusingly pointless and expensive rigs installed, which really taught me to do my research :-). If you see me mining in it, unlikely though that is these days, please blow it up - you'll be doing me a favour.

There are very good reasons why calibration is set at the level it is. For one, rigs give a pretty big boost in some cases to a ships abilities. Making the calibration higher means it becomes a cinch to just overly tank a ship or slap lots of damage ability on it. With it limited that means the pilot has to make an actual conscious decision on what rigs they will be fitting.

What I am PO about is there is nothing in game showing anyone this.

Of course there is.

You click 'show info' on your ship to find its calibration limit and you click 'show info' on the rig to find its calibration cost.

You must know that there's a fitting cost/limit to everything you put on your ship - if you don't, how the **** do you think you're qualified to make video guides for newbies?

I've been playing EVE for just over 18 months and I was reading these forums for 6 months before joining, but this is the first time I've seen anyone complain about rig calibration.

Ffs learn the game before trying to tell others how to play it.

This means, you may not be able to fit a rig even if you have this skills.

And this is why RAEC sold all their rookie frigates with rigs pre-installed, so that the rookies didn't have to learn how to install themselves & could focus on their actual combat skills instead.

You do know that other people can install rigs for you even if you have zero rigging skills, right?
