So where do Caldari pilots shop from when Jita is off limits?

Hi guys

New Caldari pilot here.

I had moved from Cladari space over to Amarr for my L1 missions because I needed to avoid the very frequent in my TZ lockups of Jita gates.

My L2s now bring me back in Caldari space (the other option would be null, low or 30 jumps out from Amarr) so I am back at square one with not being able to shop in Jita.

This is a big problem for me and I need to know if there are any alternative shopping locations that you guys use for your daily shopping list.

Thank you very much.

Dodixie, approx 15 jumps from Jita.

So every time you need one little thing you go to 15 jumps out and back?

Just move further into Amarr territory, find agents closer to Dodixie. Be a bit flexible...

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

I suppose I get Dodixie, but if you're already in Amarr space, why not go to Amarr?

I was originally in Caldari space around Jita for my L1 missions. Every time I needed to go buy something from the market, 9/10 I would get the message that gates have blocked inbound traffic due to pop limits.

So I dropped my mission hub in Caldari space (and with that my precious standings) and started over from scratch with a new corp in Amarr space.

As soon as I hit L2s, the closest agents (12j out) are back in Caldari space. So I'm trying to find a workaround to the Jita problem...

Well, the Amarr system is the Amarr Empire's main trade hub - nine jumps from Jita, and competitive prices on quite a few items.

The "official" trade hubs besides Jita are Dodixie, Amarr, and Rens. Aside from those there are a number of other systems which function as unofficial regional trade hubs, such as Hek.

You can use http://www.eve-central.com to find competitive prices on what you need in places other than Jita.

all you have to do is spam Jump + Enter over and over again on the Jita gate and you'll get in after a few tries...it's not like it's an hours long lockout...once someone jumps out of the system (which happens pretty much every second), you can get in if you are the first to hit the button...so just keep spamming jump over and over and over...

most I'm ever had to spam it was for like 3 seconds total...

if you want to shop in Jita, shop in Jita :D

^^ This

I've never been locked out for more than a few seconds.

Other places to shop:
* Amarr
* Tash-Murkon Prime

Or just use one of your 3 character spots for a neutral alt that does the shopping.

how often do you really need to go to jita? buy your ship and go to your mission area and then if needed take a hauler and load up on some ammo, shouldn't have to go back for a long time.

I mostly just ignore jita unless it is late night as it is easy to get in then.

Do your shopping remotely then courier contract it.

One little thing? No. When you just need a few specific modules, you bring up the list in the market menu, sort by distance, and buy whatever's cheap within a jump or two, you don't go to Dodixie and you don't go to Jita either.

The trade hubs are there for selling massed loads of stuff or rare specialty stuff, you go there once every week or two or when you're just doing some pure trading for a while, and in either case you're talking about hours spent setting up, which dwarfs the 5-10 minutes you have to burn on 15 jumps to get there.

(You do realize that you can open the market interface in another station or in space, sort by distance, and set destination by right-clicking on the individual sale entries, right?)

Most items you can find close by without having to go to Jita.

A few things.

First off; I haven't been in Jita in years and have never had a problem buying or selling stuff wherever I happen to be.

And second, with a few basic skills you can reprocess all the crap you find in missions and build your own stuff.

Nope...Mainly I go to Dodixie, but I always check the local markets.

Most times it's just not worth the travel time to save a couple of isk.

When i'm selling salvage or ore, I just go once a week or so.

Amarr is the closest major trade hub to Jita. Also Amarr is the 2nd largest.

I tend to go to Amarr if I want to go to a major trade hub these days instead of Jita due to the overcrowding issue and it's much closer to where I live. Blink

Why not buy a lot of crap at once, and courier-contract it out? This also has a positive side-effect: someone already there will pick it up and leave Jita with it, opening up a spot for someone else.
